Is That Stuck on Your Wrist??

My mom bought me the {best} bracelet at Chico's last time she was here. It's a bit big and shiny but I have received a lot of compliments on it. I love it and it's comfortable and something different than my normal charm bracelet on the right hand and my Brighton watch on the left.

Well, I have been wearing it a lot...okay???!!! Every day...maybe night. I forget about it b/c it's so comfortable! So I am brushing my teeth and my son comes in

{what age do the kids have to be when you can finally brush and put deodorant on without them in there???}

and says...."Mom, is that bracelet stuck on you? You better cut that off!". Stuck on me??? No, young man....I happen to like it so I wear it!

Now every time I look at the bracelet I think does it look stuck??? Well, I love it anyway! Chico has some of the BEST jewerly!

What a trip to Hobby lObby can do!

I am in the aisles of Hobby Lobby....I am in the midst of a BIG project for my daughter's class. It hit me...I MUST share this with my bloggy friends...but I can't...I told them I quit!

OkAy...let's just be honest...First, life can just be hard and sometimes it swallows you "whole" and you just can't do anything but {survive}. Or maybe it's just bad PMS but not me...I had a hystrectomy! So let's go with the first choice!

I struggle who I am in the blog world! I don't want to make it sound like we are the "Leave it To Beavers Return" so far from that! Or that I have a three course meal with homemade pumpkin pie on the side...the {drive through} lady knows me by name.

I am the ultimate Type A person you will ever meet.... I had to take off my bumper sticker of my kids school off my car b/c I don't know if my driving is a testimony!(I really am not that bad!)

I am political and I HATE (do you Hear HATE!) what is going on!

But, one thing I do know is that I do love blogging and I miss it already! Don't know if I will be here everyday or once a week but I can't close shop! I told you I hate the word "quit"...I NEVER let my kids "quit" so why should I!

So let's just pretend I DO have PMS and let's start fresh today....

Here is a sneak peak of what I am up too....oh, I can't wait to show you the finish product!

"It must come out!"

When my daughter was about 1 1/2...she fell and hit her mouth on the corner of the family room table. Well, that tooth started to become brown and the dentist said it would die. Well, 4 years later....she saw the dentist and to prevent a bad infection he felt the tooth needed to come out now.

My daughter was a bit fidgety with just the cleaning so I was worried about "shots"..."laughing gas" etc.. However, after a weekend of {prepping} her and ...OK...a little {prize} at the end! She was ready to go this week and get her tooth out!

She did great! The dentist said {perfect}!

When she came home and saw the gauze with the blood THEN she started to panic. But, all is well now and she tells anyone who WILL listen that her tooth was pulled!

Country Living Fair {Bound} and BACK!

It was our third year going....it is always full of the expected and the unexpected. It's full of tomatoe and mozzeralla brushetta, pumpkins, gourds, pulling out that credit card, sore feet, pumpkin spice cookies with a thick dab of cream cheese icing, a stop at Starbucks, talking to strangers, a little dreaming with a bit of imagination that this piece of furniture just may work!

This year, I seemed to be on a {pillow} mission. I bought THREE pillows...my favorite lady was there. Her pillows are full of fringe {then a little more!}...great fabrics!

{This is one my favorite painters...he sells on Etsy}

The Country Living Fair has the most wonderful assortment of pumpkins and gourds to buy. I love the ones with the {bumps}. Everyone says they looks like they have the measals but I love them!

Around lunch, my cell phone rang...it was my best friend (who lived about 2 hours away from this fair). She starts off with "Guess where I am?"...well, she was at the Country Living fair...she came down for it. We spent about 1/2 hour together....it was a nasty little "tease"!

Well, our adventure to the Country Living Fair was {perfect}. I wish for many more...not to buy more fringe pillows or bumpy gourds but to spend these special days with my mom! It was the perfect day....

P.S. From yesterday, this is what you do with the {signs}! It's amazing that at first, it made NO sense but how cute it became when hanging from a pumpkin!!!

Can You Guess???

My mom and I were at the Country Living Fair this weekend. We were at this one vendor's booth and there were tons of these signs. I couldn't understand it or wondered why you would buy a sign that says this....

My mom asked the vendor what was the meaning of this sign or what do you do with it!

CAN YOU GUESS???

Stop by tomorrow and I will show you.... plus pictures of our adventures at the "Country Living" Fair~

A Reunion With an Old 'Friend'...

This morning, after the kids were picked up. I jumped in my car too and headed to the closest Starbucks. The morning was crisp and I saw a few red leaves poking their head from the trees. It was the perfect morning to reunite with an old morning friend...

Pumpkin Spice Latte

...the moment I took my first sip it was a sweet reunion. The urge to put on a fire (It's still 80 here) or go rake some leaves (I still have weeds growing) or maybe put on a great fall sweatshirt (I am still wearing 'white') CoMpLeTeLy came over me!

I missed you my "morning" friend!

P.S. Sorry about all the posts about "drinks"...I guess I am thirsty!

My morning Drink..

In the morning, I never have much a desire to eat but I love to have some type of drink. Now, I love coffee but I only like it if I buy it somewhere. Call me crazy!! Go ahead!

So if I am not going out in the early morning...coffee is out. So then it's either diet mt. dew (sorry, mom!), hot tea or maybe a protein drink. Lately, I have tried to be good and go for the protein drink...I don't know if it's all "mental" but when I drink it I DO feel more energetic!

What do you drink in the morning??

a Daddy's girl....

My youngest is a daddy's girl through and through....

I think she has him tied around her {little} finger even though he won't admit it...it's a bit obvious to all around!

She was brushing her teeth a couple of nights ago. I told her to brush again because she did not brush well.

Getting a little pouty b/c I told her to brush again... ALL OF SUDDEN she turns to me

and says " I am going to tell my Daddy on you!"

I quickly turn around and ask her "What did you say???"

"I said I am going to tell MY Daddy on you!" at this time her little hands found her hips...

Well, to say the least we had a little discussion about "respect" and talking to adults.

Do you have Daddy's girl or boy?

sitting on that bench....

It's the weekend...goodness, I thought it was just yesterday and I was carrying linens into our little wooden cabin to "camp" for the weekend. But, another week has come and almost gone {again}... I wish I could tell you something truly exciting and wonderfully inspirational but if making lunches, flipping through Latin flashcards, laundry and going to the chiropracter sounds like that then I guess I will save you the {mundane} of all of that...

My thoughts do keep going back to last weekend. My son took his fly fishing equipment and I sat on a bench quietly and watched him. I had seen videos of him fishing and heard stories but never have I sat there and witnessed a true "talent" given from God to him.

He has the most beautiful movements and relaxing "touch". Do you remember that sound from the "River Runs Through It" from the fly fishers? He does that...you can hear the line in air as he lifts the hook off the surface of the water and pulls it back and forth with a continuous and smooth motion.

wishing I was sitting on that bench right now....

Men or Women?

Last night, I was on the phone with a friend during the "Jon and Kate plus 8" interview on Dateline. My girlfriend and I went back and forth with this one....

If a couple gets divorced, who Usually gets RE-married first????

The Man or The Women

What do you think???

The "one" THING that multiplies laundry??????

CAMPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just got home from our camping trip! I can't wait to share with you some pictures. I must tell you Ms. Sandy Toes is not a camper...let's just say I am more a "hoteler" {is that a word?}. However, it was fun...full of adventure...a bit buggy...a bit muddy but full of memories!

But, before I can share...I have loads and I mean.... loads of laundry ....from suits to linens!

So let me get a couple of loads on....

be back soon....

Bringing "Neiman Marcus" to me~

When I came home from college on holiday, I was a companion for an older lady. I traveled with her from NY to LA. When she was {home}, she would go to Saks 5th avenue and Neiman Marcus every week....sometimes we would get one of their yummy chocolate chip cookies.

Someone sent me a recipe that is suppose to be similar to their {amazing} chocolate chip cookie. I am not sure if this is the recipe BUT this recipe makes ONE GOOD chocolate chip cookie. Plus my {official} spoon licker gave it the thumbs up!!!

(Recipe may be halved):
2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal**
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

** Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 112 cookies.

Bought mine Today...

Early this morning...I bought TWO tickets! To WHAT???

THE "Country Living" Fair in Columbus, OH!

My mom and I are going...we plan it EVERY year...it's our special weekend...just us! I am so excited..it is full of fun stuff to buy (sorry, Mr. Sandy Toes!)....great "how to do's"....lots of wonderful orange and yellow pumpkins & gourds at every corner.

It truly is a wonderful fair...worth the wait!!!

Do You feel it?

FALL...

The past couple of days, I have been out early in the morning. The air is crisp and fresh....I can almost smell the scents of Fall. Of course, there are towels (from the weekend) still hanging on the hooks out by the pool and a can of sun tan lotion on the table. Summer is still lurking but the mornings this week bring a {feel} of what is to come!

Okay..let's be honest here...it has TAKEN EVERYTHING IN ME not to jump in my car and buy mums. Or by a few haystacks and decorate it with pumpkins. Or EVEN pull out the {pumpkin spice} candles and light them~

Do you Feel It???
