When we bought this house, I fell in love with having a covered porch. I have slowly been working on it this summer. I have been one who loves the white wicker with the big hydrangea plant next to it. However, this house has black accents so I went with black wicker furniture. I copied a neighbor down the street and put big ferns in planters which gives it a whimsical and more dramatic look. My last edition to my porch has been the black lantern which I have only lit once.
I have yet to bring out a pitcher of lemonade and sip on it with a good book. But, it has been a great place to sit while my kids ride their bikes and my daughter Grace loves to sit there as much as I "want" to sit there. She always notices the little details like the stone birds in the flower box or the American flags in the pots.
What attracts me so much to a "porch" is it represents a more relaxed and slower time...
of lazy summer days!

Beautiful flowers. Cozy porch. You need to take a good magazine out there and treat yourself to some "me" time. Go! Enjoy yourself!
Hello! I am loving this porch--especially with the flags on it. Sooo quaint. I just kept staring at it!
