Well, today I officially started decorating for Fall (those pictures will come soon..not done yet). However, I did do one of my Fall recipes. I never make this in the summer...my crockpot roast! It makes the house smell so good. I almost took out my other crockpot and started making mulled cider!
I was given this recipe by a great friend. I have done the roast in the bag, the roast in the pan with salt and I have even tried Paula Deen's roast recipe. BUT NOTHING is as EASY, MOIST or TASTY like this roast. NOTHING! It is so simple...you will not believe it till you try it.
Get your crockpot out...buy a good roast...put in crockpot. You buy the Good Seasons Italian season packet..follow the directions and make the dressing and stir well.
Then you take the dressing and pour it over the roast.
Close the lid...do not lift till after 7 hours (low) of cooking. It will be so moist and yummy you will almost have to pick it up with a spoon! You CANNOT put anything in with the roast...no potatoes or onions...just the meat!
Steam some veggies or serve with a garden salad...easy weekday meal! Bon Appetite!

Thanks for stopping by! I am a mom of two - young adults - both with red hair. Your kids are adorable.
Nantucket huh? LOL My folks lived on the Cape for 12 years, and we spent many fun summer days on trhe beach, but I am still a mountain and lakes girl. But if someone gave me a home on Nantucket, I wouldn't say no!
Good morning Sandy Toes :)
Thank you so much for leaving a comment!
I wrote this down immediately and I'm going to make it very soon. It sounds wonderful!

I LOVE easy recipes...even I could make that one!!! Now I just have to talk my hubby into eating red meat so that I can try it...I don't think I can eat a whole roast by myselt...well I could...but it would be very baaaad.
Hi Sandy Toes! Thanks so much for stopping by my place today. I hope you made yourself at home. And thanks, also, for the encouragement. I woke up this morning with a much better outlook. Hubby and I are going on a "date" (order-in pizza and a movie on the couch) to take advantage of this last Friday before he leaves.
By the way, that roast looks amazing. I got a Crockpot for our wedding and I've been dying to try something in it. I just might have to make this the week Hubby gets home! Thanks for the idea!
I ought to start making crockpot roasts again. I haven't made one since I was pregnant with my daughter five years ago! It was one of those things that I was craving...so I made it...and then as soon as it was on my plate I thought it was the most disgusting thing ever. I haven't been able to face making one since then! :)

I am so happy to have another crock pot recipe! Can't wait to try this one! And I'm glad you found Old Time Pottery (I am sure I am spelling it wrong!). I'll try to keep thinking of more places! :)

This sounds so good. I'm like you...I never cook a roast in the summer...as Fall is just around the corner, this one is a keeper!
Thanks so much for this great recipe!! Can't wait to try it. Have a super weekend.
Hi Sandy Toes,
I love this recipe and use it a lot. The crock pot is so easy. The only problem I have is smelling the meat cook all day. I start salivating. I guess I'm a true carnivore. :-)
Why o why do I see all these yummy recipes sooo late at night. that looks so good. I love your pillows on your bed. cherry
Well I was going to email you but I don't see how to do that. Here is the link to the camera at amazon you can get it much cheaper at Best Buy.

A retired photographer told me it was the best on the market if you couldn't get an SLR. It is a bridge camera which means you can play with "aperture" (This is what gives you the great close ups with a blurred backgroud) and shutter speed.
HTH,
Beth
