The neighbors are watching...

Pulled out my spray can...then the first color I spray painted was "cream"! Cut out little paper circles...used painters tape and gently taped them on. My second coat was "black" then gently peeled off the paper circles. Tied a bow on top and it's a cutie "patootie" from stem to bottom!

My neighbors are very curious why I am spray painting all my pumpkins! I do love the simple, orange pumpkin. However, my porch furniture and cushions are black so I thought polka dot pumpkins would "spruce" it up.

I took out all my summer flowers (dead from cold nights and wind) and replaced it with berries and pine plus pumpkins. I spray painted a couple pumpkins cream as an added touch! I think it was "Joy of Home" that was talking about "tweaking" her decorating. I will be doing some "tweaking" but for now it will do!

I think the polka dot and cream pumpkins would look great on some type of stand and some type of greens or sticks under it...not just on the pavement! Any ideas??? What could I do to make this a bit more dramatic? I know I know ....it's just a pumpkin but even a little pumpkin can have "Drama"!

Have a great weekend!

I LOVE your black and white pumpkins!!!! What a great idea! All your harvest photos are magnificent...such inspiration. I wish I had more time to decorate like you have. Do you usually keep your seasonal items in a bin or do you find new things to decorate with each year (excluding perishables like the pumpkins of course!)?? I'm just curious because I don't have that knack like you seem to have. I'd love some decorating hints and tips for the holidays.

Have a blessed weekend!!

So cute! Designer pumpkins! You should set them on inexpensive pots that you've spray painted. Or on a bale of hay that's tied with a black and white bow.
I enjoyed looking around at the decorations in your home too. And the pear cobbler makes my mouth water!

What a cute idea to spray paint pumpkins black and white!! I really love the one with polka dots. My younger daughter would go crazy over it! I, actually, think I could pull this one off! Look out Micheal's...here I come!! :)

I love that idea! How cute. I am decorating for fall this weekend. Though in Florida it won't actually "feel" like fall until February lol.
Great job!

The pumpkins look terrific....I adore the black and white polka dots!!

Trying to think what you could set them on....I know you only have two sitting there, so this may not work, but maybe you would want to try it....I usually get a small bale of hay...and set something on top and then on the ground...I usually do a couple pumpkins in various sizes and mums....might work, might be too much for this area. I usually do this on my front porch!

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog this week, I have had a great time exploring yours! You are a VERY talented crafter/decorator and I am looking forward to visting you often. I have rockers that are almost identical to the ones in this post, I may have to "borrow" your idea for the matching pumpkins and I will definitely be trying the pear cobbler!

Enjoy your weekend....

Hi! I found your blog through a comment you left on another's about their butterfly cupcake cake! I love your polka dot pumpkins so very much, and also all your treasured finds at the Country Living Fair! I'd be finding a spot in my home for those same things if I had visited that fair. (One favorite was the "Tweet tweet" pail!)
My daughter's #1 favorite thing is ballet, and you mentioned that you made a ballerina cupcake-cake on that other blog... I would so LOVE to see that! Is that possible somehow?
Your blog is lovely. I'm glad I visited! :)

Hi!

I needed to come back...I read your comment on the book and adoption...I could go on and on about it, but what you heard is correct.

We started this process in Dec of 2005...our paperwork finally got to Ch*na on May 12, 2006...that is our Log In Date....they refer the children in the order in which you paperwork is received....so as of last week we have been officially waiting 28 months. It looks as though we have about another year of waiting....it seems endless!

I feel horrible for complaining....Sarah's adoption was a surprise along the way that we never expected....and of course we have my sweet boy Nick...but there are many families waiting for the first child....

A little over a year ago, they tightened up the restrictions...fewer people meet the new criteria..in fact, we would not qualify under the new guidelines because of my health history. Thankfully, we are grandfathered.

OK...sorry to leave you all of this info here....I would have emailed you if I could....don't think I have your email address....mine is attached to my profile!!

Enjoy your weekend....still LOVE those pumpkins!

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day! I also spray paint my pumpkins every year. Sometimes I add some glitter. I know my neighbors must wonder about me too! I live in Texas and it is so warm here still, I wait until about mid-October to buy pumpkins. When we lived in TN, I would take the children to the pumpkin patch that was right down the road from our house. No pumpkin patches here. I just buy them from the store and they are much more expensive. Gotta have pumpkins though!

Love the black and white pumpkins. Super fun, and what a good idea to fill those wall baskets with pumpkins and gourds. I have one that is dead, and the other that is still blooming with sweet potato vine. Go figure Texas weather.

I had my pumpkins out in August, my neighbors didn't say anything but my mail lady did! She said "where did you get that cute ceramic pumpkin?" Nester was right, they are jealous!
