Organization "Pantry" Project

{Organize: to put together in an orderly fashion}

We love to use the word "organize"..you see it everywhere....blogs, magazines, shows...I even get emails on it. I have found with my Type A personality {oh yes! Me...type..maybe even A+}that being organized is good for my "soul" and everyone around me.

When things are messy and unorganized....my head starts to hurt...the beads of sweat appear...my hands begin to shake...NO...just kidding! But, you get the point, I can't function when things are CrAzY!

But, in the midst of my desire to organize...it still burns deeper than ever. I realize now with 3 KidS it will not probaly stay that way very long so I will do it again..and again...and again. Realizing this, I can relax and lower my expectations so this week I tackled my pantry.

You know the place where kids eat a "muffin" and they put the EMPTY box back on the shelf. Yes, That Place!

I have seen around "blogland" ladies putting baskets in their pantry and labeling shelves (i.e.Miss Lulu). Finally, I tackled it....but I forgot to take a BEFORE picture..shucks!

I finally organized those cans, breads, pastas, paper goods and ALL those baking goods. You would think I bake cakes for a living...I had so much flour, icing and sprinkles!!!!

After, I finished my little Organizing "Pantry" Project...I just wanted to cook!

Oh by the way, MOM,don't look at my "cereal" selection. {YES!, your grandkids are eating "sugar " cereal...at least it's not a pop tart!}

Looks great!! I wish I had a pantry to organize, too bad my old farm house has no such thing.. Well that and closets. Organizing this house is a nightmare!

I use those baskets under the bathroom sink to organize shampoos, soaps, etc. I have never thought of using them for my pantry. I can't deal with clutter very well. I get really stressed out. I have not been happy with my pantry lately. Thanks for the inspiration.

I must tackle my pantry! Like the cute tags. I am going to Storables tomorrow to pick up some baskets for my laundry room. Now I will add some for the pantry too!

I will try to take before pictures. That is always an issue for me!

i also set out to tackle the pantry (ooo... don't tell rachel i have 3 pantries) but now everything has been neat and tidy for about 2 weeks! amazing... i skipped the little cute tags though. my family will just have to remeber where it all goes. hmmm. maybe i should re-think that one! anyway, enjoy your beautiful pantry :)

Sure wishing I had a pantry right now! You did a wonderful job organizing and I can only imagine that now that it is done, you want to spend more time in the kitchen.

OK...that does it...hop on a plane and come on over to put your organizing skills to work! My pantry is in serious help of a major "re-do". In fact, I'm not so sure I could fit all my "stuff" in baskets! Abby LOVES to organize, so maybe I'll put her to work on it.

I must admit that I'm a very Type A personality, too, so when things aren't orderly, I feel a little "out of it". Been feeling like that a lot these days! :)

Very nice - I love a basket anywhere.

I SOOOOO need to do this. YES my kids do that....eat the last one in the box and then puts the box back in there. Then when I make my grocery list I don't write that item down because I think we have it and I hate not getting everything I want/need when I make my big shopping trips.
I just might turn on some tunes and spend some time working on my pantry today....thanks for the inspiration! Yours looks great!

I HAVE to have an organized pantry. The labels have to be facing outward too. My mother-in-laws's pantry is so organized, all of her canned goods are in alphabetical order.

Can you come help me at my house next??? I've got to do closets. They turned into a grand wreck at Christmas, and I need to sort and straighten. Wish you were here to direct traffic! ;-)

I am also a neat, picked up person. I can't function with a mess. However-no one else in this house is like me-well, maybe my oldest son-I am constantly organizing my pantry. My husband is the cook, so the pantry is a mess and I blame him! We have a whole shelf for his spices!!! They fit in a container-but it would need to be garbage can size. I need help for that!!!
Love and envy your tidy pantry.

That looks GREAT! I also am a stickler on things being in a proper place "just so"!! My pantry isn't labelled, and doesn't have those super cute baskets though! But every shelf has a purpose...cereals and crackers, snack-y foods, baking goods, spices and sauces and mixes, pastas and rice and main dish items, etc. It's so much easier for family members to find/put away things!
I'm going to have to keep my eye out for baskets -- great idea!

It is so soothing to see this pantry all organized. I have been wanting to reorganize mine for a long time! I wonder if this nesting thing will last long enough for me to get all the stuff off the shelves and put back? Or will I just get tired and start eating cookies? :)
