Can't teach a "mom" old tricks!

I am a "sucker" for a new product especially when it comes to lotions and makeup. I have been wearing MAC makeup since high school. I use to work at a diamond store and I would literally spend almost my entire check on one visit to the MAC counter...all the time. Well, now at age 36, I still wear MAC makeup.

But what is totally crazy is in between all these years..I will try clinque...some makeup at Sephora b/c the packaging was fun. Even this past year, I went on "spree" with Bare Escentuals. I sat in that store for almost two hours...I came out of that store with everything from lotion, concealer, 5 different powders, lipsticks and a cosmetic bag to "boot".

Well, two months later...what is Sandy Toes putting on her face? Yep, MAC makeup again..why don't I learn! You can't teach an old "mom" new tricks. Now I was in Sephora last week and I found this(I used something similar in the past)...

It's pure "bliss"...you put it under your eyes and on your lids...it brightens..it hides...and makes you look Bushy and Bright eyed! I love it!

What types of things do you try but ALWAYS seem to go back to the "old thing"?

p.s. Don't forget to signup for my giveaway (Tuesday Post)!

I tend to stick to things that I like. I have never tried MAC. Glad that you found something you like. :o)

I have never tried MAC makeup...I've always used Elizabeth Arden. I might just give it a go! And I'm for anything that's NOT going to make me look like I haven't slept a wink in 30 days! Look out Sephora...here I come!

Good morning for SITS. I have just about every line of morning facial routine stuff. The problem is I don't have a routine so they just sit under the counter.

Oh, I could definitely use this.

Funny. I have never used Mac. I have switched around as my skin has changed. the only thing that I have been consistent with is my mascara. I love almay black mascara. It is cheap and it works great.

I'm a makeup junkie. I've never tried MAC, but heard good things about it. I was always a Clinique girl, until I found Bare Minerals. Now I've been using that for the last few years. I'll have the give the LemonAid a try...I love Sephora...it's a makeup junkie's "happy place"!

After a week with my sick kiddo, I need this NOW! :)

For years I was a die hard Clinique gal. Then we moved from Cincy to ATL and the humidity sent me to Bare Minerals.

Now back in Cincy, I'm still using it.... but, I keep hearing the buzz of MAC and might just go try it out!

A friend of mine works for Chanel. She gave me a bag full of products. The products ranged from makeup to skincare. I really like their eye makeup. The skin products are nice too but when those runout, I will go back to my Olay Reginerist. I was a Clinique girl forever but now I try different things. I like Benefit blush. I also like Philosophy products but they don't always fit in my budget. I usually will buy their Pure Grace lotion because it smells heavenly.

Love Sephora! I will definitely try that LemonAid.

I do the same thing and then end up giving all the new stuff to my daughter for her to play dress up with! You'd think I would learn...

I love any make-up.
Clinique, MAc, and Channel are my top favs. Right now, I've been on a Channel kick-they have a whole kit that fits in your purse that covers all the bases except mascara. I love it.
One thing I always use though is the Clinique moisturizer-that is a staple, as far as I am concerned!

Drugstore cosmetics. I can buy all the expensive stuff on earth, and I end up at the counter at Walgreen's or Publix with makeup in my basket! My husband read something once about makeup, and it said that in some test, the drugstore variety actually outdid some of the more expensive ones. He doesn't fuss about how much I spend, so he wasn't telling me this so I wouldn't buy fancier products. He just found it fascinating. I like the tried and true, and I found a website that told which products were less toxic. That interests me a lot, too!

XO,

Sheila... who has always wanted to try MAC and for some reason hasn't but might now! ;-)

I tend to stick with the same color families with my eye shadows and lip colors.

Bliss, huh? Sounds like a miracle worker! I'll need some of that when the new baby comes in a couple months...

I use the same product all the time... It is a mix match of different brands but I stick pretty much with my favorites... Now what I hate is when they stop making my favorite products... I am now in the process of looking for a GREAT cream blush... any suggestions??? Great post

Donna

I always come back to MAC 'Pro Lash' mascara. Love that stuff! And another must have for me is laura mercier tinted moistruizer. Gotta love that stuff! Hmmm, next time I'm in Sephora to buy the moisturizer I will have to check out the stuff you're in love with now! Sounds terrific!

Julie said...

wow, I will have to check it out. I love makeup, but my husband loves it when I don't wear any make up, so I only wear it for girls night out... but I like it!

I want something that makes me look bright-eyed!!! I'll have to get back in the swing of shopping for beauty products - have been out of the loop for years, it feels. I have used a Maybeline foundation since he year dot, and just grab it off the Supermarket shelf when I've squeezed the last drop out of the old tube... What I can't do without is my Clarin's Beauty Flash Balm - there's nothing like it!

Never tried MAC, I did however try the Bare Minerals...I didn't care for it too much...I didn't see what all the hype was about. I love Clinque!

Sandy,
I am a complete die hard MAC girl. I love the stuff. All of it. It's the best.

Smelling Coffee said...

I'm a Mary Kay girl, myself. I've been wearing it since 1995 and always go back to it even after I've bought the Clinique and Este'Lauder "gift with purchase". Never worn MAC. But the "Bliss" sounds awesome.

I love MAC too.. I am going to have to try that bliss... these darn kids keep giving me circles! I could use some brightening!

I will be trying that. I am a MAC fan too, but one thing I love is Clinique eyeliner. I always come back to it.

i love mac! great stuff, but I can't wear their foundations for some reason. I keep getting sucked back in to BE. I tried other brands, but I always come back to BE.

I've been a MAC user for years and years. Love their Studio Fix and lipsticks! However, the last year or so, I've been using BE for my foundation on the advise of a friend. I'm not sure I like it better than my MAC Studio Fix. They put out some great products!

I am a sucker for any type of make-up or perfume & lotion. I'll try about anything, but find I always go back to Philosophy.

Well, I tried to go much blonder today and even though I told them a really light shade, when all was said and done, its not that different than my old color. TICKS ME OFF! WHY can't I ever go drastic? UGggh.
