My Home...Room by Room

Are you like me??? Hope NoT! I love to do crafts and scrapbook but if the area I am working in is messy...I can' t concentrate! I can't cut! I can't "glitter"...nothing! So slowly I have been working on my craft room.....it's where I scrapbook {it's been a while}, wrap gifts, paint and whatever else I may get myself into.
I have really been in a "lull" but I hope with a fresh and organized craft room...the sparks of CrEaTivItY will fly!{My new cutter..still have NOT used it..soon!}

{Dot markers...they make the perfect "dot"...such an essential..wink!}

The walls are fairly "bare"...I know!...any ideas?

You are inspiring me to get busy cleaning up my craft room. I have stamped in a long time because I can't stand to see the mess!

What a beautiful space you have to work in. :)

Well, if envy ever reared it's head in MY life, it was just now! I SO need a room like yours... that is absolutely awesome! And with all of the craft materials you have, you surely don't need to buy anything for the walls. You could even motivate yourself to do a few scrapbook pages that go on the wall.. with the hope that someday you'll string enough together to take them down and make an album!
Blessings....

I love to see ribbon boards or bulletin boards - well that type thing - hanging in craft rooms with ideas and pics of projects on them. Or just darling, can't resist pics from magazines. They keep the room "artsy" :-) I also have framed the pics from my Kate Spade calendars over the years and put them in my craft room.

Very impressive Sandy. I wish I was like you. Organized and spruced to the hilt. Can't wait to see what comes out of those walls. Creative juices flowing.

Oh to have a craft room! I am so envious! I'm sure that if I had one I would be all about decorating it but at the momentI am so jelous that I don't have one I can't enven think about decorating one. I have seen some great craft rooms in blog land recetly. In fact "My Sweet Savannah" posted some pics of a craft room today.

If only I had a craft room to clean!! Sadly my craft room is my Dining room, that is after I haul all my stuff out there.

Can I covet your room instead? She is ever so pretty. And I love your storage. Can't wait to see what creations you make while playing in there. :):)

wow! your craft area is so clean! i'm the opposite (or so it would seem)...i can't work in a room that isn't messy....LOL! my scrapbook area (spare bedroom) is a disaster. i can't seem to figure out how to efficiently store my 12x12 paper so that i can find it easily and use it. therefore it's out & all over the floor. it's a fantastic mess! and since we have guests coming in two weeks i guess i'd better get the shovel and start cleaning. sigh.

What if you chose a paint color for your walls? or use one of those scrapbook frames to hold one of your finished pages?

So cute. I love your room....what about A large area of chalkboard paint? Or a large wall of cork board? Both are really easy and they help to promote creativity.
I also can't function in a cluttered/messy room. Part of our charm, I am sure. :)

I love your craft space. It's amazing. And I love how organized it is. For the walls - maybe you can put up a few squares of cork so you have a place to pin up pictures or anything else you use for inspiration. Just a thought.

wow girl! i don't have a craft room. i store the supplies in my office upstairs, and they migrate downstairs to the living room b/c I craft while I watch tv. so my living room is an absolute wreck!

So jealous of your FABULOUS work space! I love it! As far as stuff to jazz up your space? Target has some cool things in right now that you could use - even in the dishware department - cool canisters in fun colors, etc. Also I LOVE Etsy for mixed media type prints for really inexpensive. That is how I am going to decorate the play room. Woohoo! Good job getting everything organized. :D

I would give anything to have a craft room like yours! I would go crazy...even if I'm not particularly talented in that area! I do like to try, though!

Care to organize my garage for me? Pretty please! :)

I'm so envious! A craft room! if I didn't have so many kids then I could devote an entire bedroom to crafty activities. Maybe when my boys leave home, if they EVER leave home!

I'm like that as well...if it's a mess, I can't get anything done. Remember the video I posted of my craft room? Ugh! It's still in the same state of chaos.

Yours is so nice and clean and shiny! Impressed!

Oh, my gosh, what a wonderful room! I'm not a very crafty person, but I would love of that space to do the few things I do. I'm also not that organized. Kudos to you!

Everybody needs a project room like this. Yours is so organized! As far as walls go I love buttery yellow colors for wall paint. So, is your house where everyone likes to scrapbook???

Gretchen said...

Ohh! Can I come play in your craft room?
It looks so neat and organized!
You know I love the labels =)

I just moved all my scrapbooking things into the spare room, now making that room mine! I am gleaning some ideas here from you...mine looks a little bare as well..I am going to stencil some quotes on one of my walls with a pretty letter stencil I just found...I am hoping the letters will be big enough. Right now I am just feeling a little overwhelmed by it all. I am like you, it is hard to get into working on projects with a mess...and boy do I have a mess!...lol

Hi Sandy Toes! Yes yes yes! I can totally relate to not being able to function in chaos! I admire people who can but not me. I've now been sewing on the dining room table instead of my "sewing room" I completed a decoupage project this weekend at the kitchen table because my "craft" table is covered in new items for scrapping! I don't know how this happened because I've always picked up before the next project but now my creativity can't flow in that room so I will do the same thing and CLEAN it this WEEK!!! thanks for understanding; sometimes I feel all alone in this inability to create in chaos thing!!!lol Sincerely, Jeannette

Yes, I definitely have to have everything organized and with no mess before I can work. I was going to make the same suggestion as Pam D. to make up some pages to put on the walls.

You lucky lady! What a great craft room! I am like you...I need things clean and organized. Started my spring cleaning today...now if I can just keep it up! (And I am jealous of your cricut machine...you better start using that, Young Lady!) ;-)

Your craft room looks great! I've been working on mine for the past couple of weeks.. but we are putting wood floors, painting, decorating etc.. I love pink and brown, so most of the things are a mix of those colors..Its looking good.. pictures coming soon..

If you paint hang some of your paintings on the wall, make a paper banner with the word "create", hang pictures, display a pretty colorful magnet board, shelves to put small storage boxes or jars, etc.. theres tons of things you can put on the wall!

Good luck! The room looks great. Let me know how the cutter works!

This is really nice, my craft area is a mess. It must have to do something with the creative side. I want to be neat and organized and I try and then it is messy again. What a nice area.

Jeni said...

Looks great! I can't believe you have a cricut and haven't used it...shame on you! Wish I had one.

You will never believe what I ended up getting my kids for Valentine's...well we where away on a little vacay so when we went into a store my kids totally went for the webkinz and they had that heart frog...they were buy one get one free so I did it. But I was thinking of you while doing so.

You have so inspired me to get cracking and cleaning up my "space" although not big like yours right now my stuff is a mess!!! I love the table you have to.

For your walls, I saw in the book The organized and inspired Scrapbooker the girl put up 4 different clocks altered them with scrapbook paper to go with her color scheme and set the time to the different time zones, looked sooo cute. She had in the middle of that same wall a "inspiration sorta bulletin board" It had pictures and layouts she recently done and it had a ledge at the bottom that held a book she loved. Oooo another idea I saw is the woman used her kids crafts/artwork from school and framed it. That's all I can think of now :)

MarthaYvette said...

p.s. your cricut can do that vinyl lettering youtube has a few tutorials :) You could put up a favorite quote across the top of one of the walls or over the door??
