Stir and Season Saturday

"STIR AND SEASON" SATURDAY

Well, I am sure there will be a lot of baking this week with Valentines almost here! This is a sugar cookie recipe to DIE for. My sister in law gave it to me and it makes the best sugar cookies to decorate EVER!!!! I use this recipe at Christmas, too! I love it!

SUGAR COOKIE DOUGH

3/4 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

21/2 cup all purpose flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp salt

Cream shortening, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Add all the dry ingredients. Cover and chill overnight. Roll and cut out cookies the next day{about 1/4 inch thick}. Bake at 350 until light brown (about 6-8 minutes). Let cool completely and begin to decorate! Enjoy!

Hi Sandy Toes,

Came for a quick visit as I read on April's blog that she won the award and..I often see your sweet comments to others!

April is a sweetie and I love her writing; sometimes it about something very simple but she is so animated! And you gotta love her girls. What a sweet family!!

Love new sugar cookie recipes (yum) and have thinking about goodies to give away on the big day. Will give these a try! :-)

I will visit again soon, your blog is very funny & interesting!

Have a great weekend & hope you have time to swing by!!!

I have been searching world wide for a great sugar cookie recipe. I have enjoyed making/eating the results, yet they just weren't what I was looking for. I hope this one is a keeper! If not, I will just have to eat them all...again!

Wow! That looks simple enough for me to follow. Except the "chill overnight" part...I'm not known for my patience or for planning ahead enough to have time to chill overnight =)

Thanks so much for stopping by my place on my special SITS day!
