My Home....What is Your Style? Part 3

I can be very influenced by the decorating shows and magazines I read. Honestly, I am drawn to many styles and colors. The shades of red is one of my favorite colors to decorate with but you must be careful. I have used a dark "reddish" color in some of my main rooms but this house I decided to do my Laundry Room a "cranberry" red...yes, you read it correctly RED!
If you are like me, you spend a lot of time in your laundry room. I fold better, I wash better {I don't iron better..b/c I don't iron} when the room is freshly painted and organized. I have NEVER in the past use black "accents" but I have enjoyed all my black pieces. What is truly wonderful about decorating with black woods or metal is that a Black can of Paint can make anything you want! My cupboard always has a black can of spray paint...if I am low...I pick up another one.I guess the point of this whole 3 part series...is that don't feel stuck in one style. There are ways to incorporate a few. After many years of collecting primitive and Early American pieces, I am not going to throw them out. But, in rooms like laundry or bathrooms, I am able to decorate a little different and change things up a bit.

What about you... What is one type of style or color you would like to try but you are scared???

Some of my FAVORITE decorating blogs are
Nesting Place
Shabby Nest
Restyled Home
Joys of Home
....After one look...I bet they will be your favorite, too!

I love your laundry room! I love red and black together, very dramatic and fun! I wish mine was big enough to fold laundry in. Mine is pretty much a closet.

Thanks for this series! Not only have I got to be voyeuristic, I've also been inspired!

I heart your laundry room! It's done in the exact same style as my bedroom and kitchen. :)

Our laundry room is so small that your photos of yours are making me quite envious. What a beautiful room to work in!

What I'd give for my laundry room to look JUST LIKE YOURS! Those colors really pop and add so much to the space! I've always wanted to try deep reds, but I've been too chicken!

Red, black & white are one of my favorite combinations & your laundry room is great. I love the baskets on the shelf.
How many coats of paint did it take?

No wonder you like spending time in there! I am beginning to hate my decision to have our laundry room in our bathroom. Dust is everywhere, and piles of clothes on top of the dryer looks bad when visitors go in there.

You are so sweet to mention me in your list of faves. Your blog is a treasure and I am honoured by your mention!

Cheers,
Linda

Great inspiration for the laundry room! Mine is the basement, but that is the safest area to paint really! I love the black and red together! Hmm...what to do in MY basement now!?

I really started using black accents after starting to blog because I saw it all over in everyone's home and love it! I would love to step outside my safe colors of tan, greens and blues and go with something off the wall. I hope to do this soon in my den/family room.

Love your laundry room!!

I am inspired. My next house WILL have a laundry room! My current home houses the washer and dryer in the garage. How odd is that? It works. But, I'd like a little surface area for folding and such. I recently left red and went with brown. I'm enjoying it a lot. ~Mindy

I love the red. I have lots of red in my house.

My laundry room is painted, but not decorated. It's too small to do anything in there other than load the machines, so I fold in the living room. ;) I would love a laundry room with a sink!

I love it!! I'm so happy for you I know you spend a long time in there, I sure do. I need to do mine now.

I think the red is great! Red is my favorite color as of late. We have a red bathroom in our home and some red accent walls. I'm seriously considering painting our kitchen island red. I will post once I do it.
