Open "it" Up!!

This week we are in the process of opening up our pool~ The pool men were here early in the morning. It looks like the pool will not be completely ready to go till the weekend. The pool man, I think felt sorry for my kids and hated to make them wait....but I am the one who has been so very excited to take a dip!

I remember less than two years ago coming to this area to look at homes. I came for a long weekend and looked at over 60 homes...new...old...not built yet...10 years old...cookie cutter...custom~ Homes on land to the type where you walk outside and stretch your arms and may touch your neighbor. I couldn't find anything....I ran my realtor RAGGED!

The next time I came back to look at homes, I brought a friend for moral support...we looked at many, many more. It was the last day to look and my realtor was discussing how she would search for some more for me to look at the next visit. But, she had two more houses to look at. I remember pulling into the neighborhood going down to the street.

I remember my girlfriend pointing out "positive" things about the home while we were walking up to it...I rolled my eyes {I dragged my feet with this move}. I walked through the kitchen and out the bay windows...I saw it! I walked outside to the back and there was the most beautiful inground pool we had seen. I remember taking off my sandals and dipping my toes in the water.

My realtor encouraged me to look at {more}of the home...there was so much more I had not seen. I didn't care...I was sold! I didn't think about future BBQ's or pool parties...I dreamed about all the "fun" my kids would have..the memories! As a child, we had an above ground pool and those were some of my fondest childhood memories.

We bought that home and still today..I love the pool even more! This is when I begin the struggle of being outdoors floating around and being in the house doing "things"....the pool always wins! I may become a VERY bad blogger soon or get wireless!

my daughter loves the pool that much too but i do not. i don't like to swim or lounge around the pool. i'd rather be in the woods.

We live on a golf course and don't close our pool because we enjoy seeing it year round. I say that....Its a big ol' leaf catcher and a pain for me the pool girl. Glad to see your opening yours up...its time to start planting those summer flowers for around the pool. That is my favorite part.

We had an inground pool when we lived in our last house in Tennessee and we LOVED it! I would often go out and sit by the pool when my girls were in school (sinful, I know!). It was so nice and relaxing! We didn't want to spend the money to have one built at this house because we knew we'd be here for only a few years. In our next house, you can bet your boots that a pool will be at the top of my list!

I would love to have a pool and I don't blame you for spending every waking moment there! I would, too!

I would have been sold, too!!!

I have always wanted a pool but hubs is against it. Can you believe that!!

Ah yes, it is a little piece of Heaven on Earth! We have had pools at two other houses when the girls were growing up and they offer such relaxation and fun. You are on vacation 365 days a year if you live in a warm climate. Now we live at the lake and dip our toes off the dock!

Such a cute post. We love our pool also, and I have mentioned before being in south florida it is madatory. Too hot to do anything else in the summer. :)
I could never think of closing our pool...but I suppose that is a northern thing.

I am sooooooo jealous! My house would probably been condemned because I would not want to do anything but stay in the pool.

We just opened ours up a couple of weeks ago. This past weekend was the 2nd weekend for the kids getting in. It's still a bit too cool for my taste...but the sun is out for me!

I have an award for you!

I too love having a pool. I don't, but my sister's neighborhood does so I spent lots of time there. We live close to the ocean so often when it's warm we somehow end up down at the beach...while laundry is in the washing machine begging for attention...I'm goofing off at the beach. I figure...they only play with me for a few years and then they're gone so...beach here we come.

We put ours in 2 years ago and have loved every single second of it! the memories we have made... the laughing and the kids excercising when they don't even realize it! LUV... and guess what I'm now wireless just for this reason!!!! i haven't been a blogger in the summer yet... it must be hard w/ the kids and swimming... they are still fixing our pool! May 1 has come and gone but they think it's a week away to being ready again... they need to plaster it and fill.... soon!!!

My pool is so shaded it takes forever to warm up (even in Texas).

I need to relax and enjoy my pool more.

Glad yours is getting ready for action.

I'm with you on the pool thing! We live in TX where summers are brutal, and I told hubs that I'd never buy a house in TX without a pool. So when we were shopping homes, we only looked at ones with pools. heehee

We haven't been able to get ours going yet for the season. It's been really stormy and chilly the last week. Hoping to get it going soon!

I don't blame you! It is too inticing to get outside and enjoy the goodness of summer (aka the pool☺)! My parents have a pool and we definitely enjoy it. It is so relaxing to go out in the evening and cool off with a dip in the pool. Sounds nice. Now you have me anxious for the pool to open. ☺

Hope you're having a great week!

Pools are great! I have fond memories, too, of our above ground pool when I was young! We have an above ground one for our boys....hours of entertainment! It's still a couple months away from pool weather here, though!
