My "Second" Home

Did you know I have a second home? I do! Sometimes it's Clean and Sometimes It's Not! It has a tv...comfy seats...we eat meals there...I find dirty {changed} socks there...we read there..we sleep in there...sometimes we drink our morning coffee in there. Sometimes I just "sit" in there for hours.

Lately, I spend more time at my second home than anywhere else.

You may have a second home, too! It's my VAN!! I remember hearing of families who eat dinner in their car going from one sport camp to another game.

{Thinking that will never be us} Well, not only is it US but I should invest in putting a "full size" kitchen and maybe salad bar in the back!

Now I am in {CONSTANT} battle with myself about cleaning the VAN b/c I know the next day after cleaning it...it will be full of little {kiddie} crumbs...soccer balls...McDonald's happy meal toys and drinks...BBQ sauce containers and wet wipes.

We are always off doing something and sometime during the day there is someone in the car eating "dripping" ice cream. There are always {extra} folks in our car who leave something behind...so instead of going {Crazy}...my car is on hold for {summer} fun!

What about you? Does your car look like it has stopped at every ice cream shoppe and park in town???

{Please tell me it does..make me feel better!}

Our car looks the same. I clean it out every evening and sure enough the next evening it needs to emptied out again!

I could have written this post myself. My car is full of those exact things. Plus sometimes scooters, skateboards and bikes.

I do feel like I live in my car. I have extra napkins and straws in my middle compartment - just in cast. A full stock of wet wipes - just in case. A blanket, chairs, baseball bag, Snacks, DVD Player and DVDs. I try my best to get the toys out every night, but somehow the next evening more have reappeared!

Second homes really do get dirty and unforgotten. But it is a good thing to have. Funny because we all probably could have wrote this.

Wow, your car is busy! We eat in the car etc, but I have such OCD the crumbs hardly have time to hit the seats! The kids are practically wrapped in napkins and paper towels when eating.

Our Escalade is EXACTLY the same! It looks and smells like McDonalds! As a matter of fact, this post sounds like I wrote it. We are on hold for summer too!

Ha, yes oh yes, my car is definitely my second home. It has been for over 20 years. We have XM Satellite and TV screens in the seats. Movies, Playstation and Talk Radio. What else do you need?

I babysit my grands after school. My car was 11 years old and it was looking mighty 'lived-in', but still ran, so "we gave that old thing to Bumpa", and Grammie got a new SUV. Well, now they think Grammie's car rocks and they are really trying to keep it that way. They take all their trash with them when they get out every day, and my granddaughter likes to vacuum it out Not so easy for 6 and 8 year olds, and Summer just began but so far, so good!

My truck, the millennium falcon, is usually kept pretty neat, but we don't have the schedule that you do. But, back in the day...

Mine looks like a disaster and I'm the only one in it.

I hear ya. I've got the same stuff in my car. Generally there is also a 12 pack of soda or some cat litter that I don't feel like carrying in too!

Well, as you know, I don't have kids so my car is clean. No eating is allowed in my car. Now, if I had kids that might be a hard rule to keep. My sister in law's van is a disaster area. I found all kinds of food in there. It was too funny!

I just hate the look of our van half the time. I've learned to never say "we'll never do that" because then we always end up doing it. ;) I think I've just come to realize that someday my car will be perfectly clean...but then my kids will be grown up and gone. I guess I'll have to "enjoy" the mess while I can.

Oh man, my car is a total PIT. Absolutely horrible. Yes, we live in our car too.

I love this post! I can totally relate. In fact, I just cleaned the van out 2 days ago. I couldn't take it anymore.

I know it's been a looong time when it starts smelling like a warm banana in there!

A full car is usually a fun car! My kids are still pretty little, so far I've been able to hold fast to my "no eating in the car" rule!

Ditto everything! Toys seem to find their way to the car, too, then they don't leave until I fill up a box and bring them back in the house. Then they're sticky or greasy from the "car picnic" crumbs or drips. Starting to feel like this is oversharing. . .
