She is getting "weepy"....

Saying "goodbye"...my daughter is starting to get all weepy {this happened last year too}. She will have to say goodbye to her 1st grade teacher whom she loves. Her teacher is so very sweet and the ultimate "FIRST GRADE" teacher with such love and kindness.

My kids both have wonderful teachers this year!I hate to say goodbye to them, too!

{This is my son who STUCK his hair straight up after gym class}

What do you do for End Of The Year Gifts? We usually do gift cards but I am thinking of just writing a letter to both teachers, too-thanking them! A letter! Not an email...not a text message...

a good ole fashion letter~

When is the last time you wrote a letter?

i love that you are going to write a letter to the teachers! it will be so appreciated... perhaps their favorite gift amongst the candles and such! i hope the weepiness passes quickly and the excitement will begin to build for a new year... after the summer fun, of course!

I love writing letters or thank yous randomly. This is such a great post. I need to get on it and get something special for a few people that have made my daughters life at school wonderful.

I am so grateful your kids have had a great time of it.

My daughter gets teary eyed each and every year....she has LOVED each one of her teachers. I think a letter to the teacher is a fabulous idea.

My little Jenna is leaving kindergarten and she's been a mess. She doesn't want anything to change and she's scared of first grade. I'm doing my best to reassure her but she just doesn't transition to new situations well. Unfortunately, it's a by product of Darrell's death.

On the positive side, I love it that our kids had such wonderful teachers that captured their hearts!

The end of the school year always makes me weepy.
I'm not good with endings of any sort.
As for gifts, I usually customize a simple frame with scrapbook do-dads relating to school along with the school year and put a class picture in it. The teachers usually love it.

We had our last day last Wednesday...I was sick and wasn't able to be there, but I did send in a little note card (hand written)from Kayla and I. Plus we bought her teacher a Florida State coffee mug with Florida State flavored coffee. (her fav team and she loves coffee)

We usually do a gift under $15 or so. But one that the teacher will love. This teacher I must say was hard to purchase for. She rides a motorcycle and has a snake as a pet! But she was super sweet and one of the best!

Your kids are so cute! It does make a lasting impression on them to have a teacher who really cares and is plugged into them. My girls STILL talk about their favorite teachers when they were in kindergarten or first grade.

Yes, I've written letters to my girls' teachers before telling them how much they meant to them, and to me. I can tell you that it touched them deeply, so you can't go wrong with doing it.

Who wouldn't love to get a heartfelt handwritten letter. I know they will appreciate that so much. We just did big gifts at Teacher Appreciation so I think a letter will be great.
What a sweet tender heart your daughter has.
Thank God for wonderful devoted teachers.

Just last week- two of them. I'm a bit old-fashioned that way...I'm slowly coming to grips that the only mail I'll most likely get is what I order on the internet.

I wanted to make something...ya know a good ol' handcrafted gift -- for the end of school gift, but just ran out of time. We bought a movie gift card, it is good for 2 movie tickets and $10 worth of concessions. I did this last year too and the teachers loved it. So, I stuck with the gift card, but sure wish I could have done something homemade. I am inspired by you though, and I might have the kids write a letter to their teacher.

I also did a little tiny gift for all the office staff.

The letter is a great idea. I have gotten those and saved them. Especially the ones written on a lovely card. Every thank-you I send is an old-fashioned letter! I think it is wonderful that your daughter has had such wonderful teachers thus far!! xoxo

I often think that i am the only one who still puts ink to paper!
Ok the last letters I stent out I typed on MS Word because my spelling leaves alot to be desired ...
However, I always appriciate letters!
It is that special touch that the teachers will remember.

Oh I remember those days. It is so hard on the kids but equally hard on the parents I think.

Hi Sandy Toes~
I've been up to my elbows today in homemade salsa. I made 40 pints to give to teachers and administrators of both of my children's schools. (We're leaving our Elementary school, so I'm also giving some "goodbye thank you gifts" to some I would not normally gift at the end of the year.)

I do think that a handwritten note is a special treasure. I taught school for 4 1/2 years, and always appreciated an honest and encouraging gift of words. (A little gift card thrown in was always an extra plus.) :-)

The Lord bless you and your family as this school year closes...

I'm thinking I might have my kids write a letter to them as well. I think the teachers would love that.

As a former teacher myself, I have to say that gift cards are always the way to go. The gift they love above all others!

It is wonderful to have that kind of teacher! I still keep in touch with my first grade teacher. She was like a second mom only different and special in her own way.

I was just thinking about all the end of the year gifts. I think I just might do letters. They are sincere, frugal, and from the heart. Thanks Sandy Toes for the idea!
