Health Care Reform

Today, I was surprised when I looked on my "blog" roll to see that No One posted about this health care bill being proposed....

A 1,000 plus page bill full of "who knows what"....even those writing it don't know all that's in it. {There are 5 different committees involved}

While this bill is being promoted as a way to reform health care and help Americans, it should be opposed because it would:

* Spend billions of dollars to allow the federal government to fund home visitation programs, where government officials would enter homes and monitor children and instruct parents in how to raise their children;

* Encourage states to pressure families to enroll their children in these home visitation programs;

* Put the federal government in the healthcare business, resulting in loss of competition, loss of patient choice, and loss of patient freedom;

* Require all health insurance plans, whether offered by a private company or the government, to include controversial “essential benefits,” which courts or the Secretary of Health and Human Services may determine to include medical procedures which businesses and taxpayers may oppose on philosophical and religious grounds; and

* Increase the size and power of the federal government.

PLUS...the people writing it....WHITE HOUSE and Congress have their own "special" health care. My question is if it's such a good bill...

{Will they drop their {special} health care and join Americans in this "new" one?} NO!!!

Call your senators today...it's time to speak out against Bill H.R. 3200!!!!

I've been watching and wondering about this bill too. It really worries me...sometimes I feel like we're heading towards Communism...and we've all seen how well that works!

sigh.

Yes, I'll be contacting whomever necessary. I just wish they would listen.

I post about it on my political blog all the time. I have been doing the lay work as well. This is so serious. We have to make them understand that they must read the bill and slow it down before even considering it. There are better ways to go about getting some of the obvious reforms that need to be addressed. Not making everyone be forced to eventually have government run their bodies.

I'm not a fan of this because I feel like I already have socialized health care; I've mentioned my delight over the civilian care we're received this assignment on my blog recently. Have you read about what happened to the airman from Travis AFB? Google it. The man has NO legal recourse. I can't type anymore about it because it makes me ill.

Great view on the Health Care Reform Bill... People should get more involved in what is going on in this country... and not sit blindly by the side... Thanks for an eye opening post!

I'm hopping on the bandwagon, too! Thanks for bringing this to all of our attention! We, as Americans, have GOT to do our part and find our voices and get involved!

I couldn't agree with you more! I think the entire things is a waste of time and paper. They need to figure something else out and toss this idea!

I love it when you get political.
I've been wanting to do a post about it but can't get the youtube piece I wanted to use to load correctly, so just haven't done it yet.
This is such a critical bill - I do hope people are waking up to see what this administration is trying to do to our country.

I have called and written and just about jumped up and down...no one I know is for this bill...why are our representatives listening to us? I really feel they turn a deaf ear to us sometimes...especially when we are logical.
Where else do you turn? Can't run away from it ... we need more tea parties to address this issue and get more attention.

Great Post! My Congressman is voting no on this bill.
I've been calling politicians around the country letting them know that this is not the way to go and to please vote no.
I have the list if any one wants it with the numbers.
There needs to be some serious changes at election time next year.

Preach it. I used to think that no matter who was president, it couldn't get too bad because really, they couldn't accomplish too much with all the checks and balances in our system. Um, yeah. That's not how I think anymore. My goodness this man has done so much in so little time. He hasn't even been in power for a year and yet the changes being made will do so much damage it's mind-boggling.

So glad you posted about this. I've been away from the computer much of the week, had scheduled posts ready to go, and just didn't have the time to pull the info together. You did a beautiful job with this.
