After getting home...I chuckled to myself about the night...life has changed- WE have changed...especially me!
After dinner we went to the theater...there was nothing that interested us. Years ago, I would of been disappointed and would of wanted to see anything but I was content to go home (okay...and get comfy clothes on).
Before, going home...we stopped at the Dollar Tree to find "favors" for my daughters birthday party. Years ago I hated the dollar store NOW I am there on my anniversary...oh my!
I stopped at one drink...knowing well that morning would come and 3 pairs of eyes would be staring at me!
When we came home...I think my husband and I were glad to see the kids up(they had WAY more fun with the babysitter). We had a crazy day and I was glad to say "goodnight".
My daughters first question as I came to tuck her in...

Y'all sound about as exciting as we are. Just being together is what's important. Happy anniversary!
I am glad you still enjoyed your anniversary and that you got to be together!!!
Awwwwww...so sweet!
On my 14th anniversary (recent) I managed to run into our swingset with the mower. Fortunately hubby just laughed about it. That weekend we all went out to dinner...not exactly what I'd call relaxing. LOL!
That's a typical celebration for us as well - if we even get to go out. :)
Sorry that things didn't quite work out as you'd expected they would, but that's life for you! Being able to make the very best of your time together says a lot about your marriage. So...DID you kiss?:)
We always say it doesn't matter what we do as long as we are together.
Last year on our 21st anniversary...we went to the gym, wal-mart and picked up a pizza pie and went home! It was great!
Well, sounds like a lovely evening to me!
I love your Daughter!!!!
Love is good when we are content!
I laughed out loud- "did you kiss?" That is fantastic!!!
:) Nice anniversary!
We do the same kind of things...I remember that "will watch any movie just to be seeing a movie" time. Happy Anniversary!
The "Did you kiss" comment made me laugh! THat is so stinkin' cute! This is why I love kids!!!
We do change as time goes by... It is being content & happy with your life and the small things are not as darn important as they once were. It is funny about the dollar store... I loved this story.
Have a fun filled day!

We too have had *celebrations* that don't go as planned. I hope you ended your evening with a great kiss! : )

Sounds just like us!
Sounds like fun and my kind of anniversary celebration too! Your daughter is so sweet and funny! But girls don't kiss and tell, do they! ;)

Awww - ya'll were together and that is what matters most! Happy Anniversary!
That sounds about right here too-our big anniversary (13) is around the corner, and we go Kyacking. Alone. That is the big thrill.Maybe we will live on the edge and also go to Ben Franklins-
Oh my goodness this sounds devastatingly familiar lol! Except I don't even do the one drink anymore at all, we skip that altogether. Just stopping by from SITS to say hello!

Things do change...alot! I welcome it and it sounds like you do too. Gracefully accepting the years and what will change next:)
Your daughters question is the BEST part of that anniversary....lol! We are content to just hang out now. We don't have to go and do too much anymore. Happy Anniversary!!
HAHA! Hubby and I went out of town for our anniversary this past weekend and tried sooooo hard to stay up for the night life...we are just too old... We couldn't get home fast enough to see the kids on Sunday....85 the entire way home!
Our anniversaries are usually just about as exciting as yours was. :) They are still so fun though! Glad your day was still a wonderful one for you.
Still sounds like a nice evening. To me... there is no place like home!
Happy Anniversary to you. What sweet posts this and the previous one are. Glad that you still had a good time and enjoyed being together, even at the Dollar Tree.

So funny and so very relate-able (not a word?) We were at a movie on our anniversary (18 years) and one of the characters was eating apple pie. We began to CRAVE apple pie. The movie was so bad, we left, bought apple pie at a local market, vanilla ice cream, took it home and ate it with the kids. They were shocked to see us home on our anniversary and with a treat for them! :) Things do change.
