On Sunday morning, my daughter told me she had to talk to me...alone...privately....no brothers...no dads!
She was VERY serious. I told her we would set some time alone before bed to talk. I was a bit nervous...sometimes my middle child "surprises" me!
She thinks about things.
Sitting on the edge of her bed waiting for her to speak...with anticipation not knowing what would be asked-
I cautiously ask her, "What did you want to talk to me about?"
With "pure" seriousness....she looks at me and says...
"I have been thinking about this and I need to know something...."
"How do Mermaids Have Babies???"

how funny! What did you say!!?? About my umbrella in the pool thingy! We had what I call a "reef" put in the shallow end, kinda lika a big step so you can sit {kinda like a kiddy pool} and perfect to relax in water without having to swim, then I thought when they were building it how great shade would be and that came the idea to drill holes 2 holes in the reef on either side that are unbrella holders. My unbrellas fit right into the holes and shade the reef area.
