All Those Women and Their Cameras....

There are some things, I don't talk about on this blog. I know you are thinking ....REALLY?

yes, I do talk about politics, my beliefs and whatever else {fancies} me.

But, I have never talked about losing weight...Honestly, losing weight has been a constant struggle since I {popped} my first kid out maybe even before but not as bad. I have done it all from WW to the soup diet to {starve} me to I shake diet...you name it I probaly have tried it! I don't do surgery or pills but everything else is a "YeS"!

My one friend who I talk often to about "dieting" says she watches the Biggest Loser for motivation! Well, somehow, that doesn't work when you grab a bag of chips and salsa to sit down and watch the Biggest Loser. I think I eat more watching that show and seem to have no problem stuffing my mouth as I watch people exercise for an hour.

Okay...so you may ask...Why? now are you talking about this! Well, my childhood friend and I are talking about attending "Blissdom" in 2010. It sounds like so much fun but it hit me last night that it's a TOTAL event of women who LOVE their camera! There will be no where to hide!

I don't know, my dear readers. I need to do something....or I may have to change this blog title to

"Weight Bulging Over my Pocket"!

I had to laugh about your comment about eating chips while watching the Biggest Loser. That show is IMHO extremely unrealistic. Who exercises for 8 hours every day? And that trainer who screams in people's faces, how is that motivational?

Anyway, I hope you will go to the event and have a great time.

Dear SandY Toes-
We are always the hardest on ourselves-
Of course I only put up the "Best pictures" of myself-
and I think about my weight every single day-
I wish you luck, I do know the struggle you talk about. (Consider how thin my mom and sister-who gave twins, for goodness sake!- are...)
Let's go, and have fun-We are hardest on ourselves-I know you are well loved in the blog world, and as you should be! You are funny, smart, kind, and a great mom!!!
Share your talents with them at the conference!
And your final line here, made me laugh!!!!!

(P.S. Remember, Tin Man is thinking I am going to a Bible/Blog conference even after I sent him the attachment (!!!)-We're going, baby!!!)

Go and have a blast! People come to your blog because you have a sweet spirit and heart- that's what they'll "see" when they meet you in person!

Oh my -- I can really relate! I usually eat candy while watching Biggest Loser! So bad, I know! Just started a dvd workout - Jillian's 30-day shred, which would be great, if I didn't have injuries immediately! Take care.

Me too. I am over 50, past menopause and my weight won't come off even with dynamite! It gets me down sometimes, then most of the time I just give up. We eat healthy, just too much. My youngest daughter lost so much watching the Biggest Loser, really got motivated. Me not so much, I can eat and watch them exercise!

I think we all feel this way, but remember, our insides are the most important part of US. And yours are just wonderful. :)

As I sit here with my over creamed coffee eating eating cheese cubes, I must say it is hilarious about you watching the Biggest Loser. I didn't know Blissdom will be here in Nashville - I need to check that out. And no worries, we like you no matter what you have in or over your pocket. ;D

Good luck, you can do it!

I struggled with my weight for years, until this spring, when I discovered running.
Now I can't imagine my life without sports, it's like a positive drug :)

I lost 68 pounds when I was 21-22, before that I struggled with my weight BIG time, I remember crying each night begging the Lord to help me. He did, by way of a book called Diets Don't work. Mind you I had been on every diet in the World before that. Anyway, in this book they study naturally thin people and how they eat instead of studying heavy people that lose the weight (and almost always end up gaining all their weight back AND More.) I've never had a weight problem since I've read this book. I don't know if it will work for anyone else, but it sure was a blessing to me. It still freaks me out after ALL these years (I'm 45) when someone tells me how skinny I am. By the way, I lost the weight without exercising too. The book just really made sense to me.
I can see this is important to you if you have it on your mind. But I do hope no matter what, you just go have a great time as you are! We are so hard on ourselves and lose out on so much fun because we "aren't where we want to be"
By the way, I am not photogenic, maybe that's why I try to stay behind the camera. I don't know why I dont' look good in pictures (seriously) I think I'm cute (why does this make me laugh?) but even my mom and friends say I don't look anything like most my photos!
I am determined to not let this stop me from being in pictures! But it is hard isn't it?
Yep, I have some things to work on too! Great post!

I can relate! After I had my daughter, I kept thinking about losing the baby weight, but then all of a sudden it was two years later and I don't think you can call it baby weight when your "baby" is talking and walking and, well, not a baby anymore. Then I got pregnant again and so I had to put off the weight loss. I will say that I've had a lot of success with Weight Watchers, because I love the accountability and the "rules" of it all. But everyone is different as far as what motivates them, so I wish you the best of luck in finding what works for you! :)
