Not all in my {head}...

Last night, I sat down and began my Thanksgiving "Meal" plan....it's at my house and I try to make it simple {but it NEVER is}. I try to eliminate some dishes but {I never do!}

I have found that I just need to write it all down...My life can be hectic and busy but as long as it's on the piece of paper and NOT all in my "head". All is good!

Do you feel better when you write all that {stuff} down?

Here is my pile of cookbooks I scanned today {I always try to add a new recipe or two but I have so many oldies and {goldies}.

Two hours later...I have one big list and I will be ready to push that grocery cart with all the other people and their grocery carts plus a {turkey} or two.

Now...I have to think about the table...YES, I set my table almost a week ahead....BY the time it's actually Thanksgiving...I have to pull out the feather duster and dust the plates and forks...

I have a binder with various forms for household organization. I feel loads better after writing it down. Lists are my BFFs.

I love how you think! I too am a planner - I have to be because I have so many irons in the fire.

I love seeing all your cookbooks and your planning sheet - I actually think that is a fun part of the holidays.

I SO wish I could set my table a week early - that would be awesome!

I would love to see a picture of your table when you get it together! I looked at Hobby Lobby tonight for a table runner....to start our new tradition you shared....no luck so I am still on the hunt!

I make a list every morning for my day. Also of crafts I need to make for the month like b-day cards, kids class stuff, gifts for others. Right now my list is long and overwhelming...I think I can...I think I can...I think I can...

Yes, I do prefer to write things down and then clear my head.
I love the picture with all the cookbooks open.

I am a list queen ~ my life would be a chaos if I didn't have it all written down.

Love the runner idea.

We too have to plan out our meal and write out our ingredients (so we don't forget anything!). We haven't added anything new in a few years cause we already make so much (LOVED recipes) for a "small" family gathering!

You have found the secret to having a perfect holiday...plan, plan, and then plan some more! This year my cookbooks don't understand what's going on. They are all on the bookshelf instead of spread across the dining room table...we are going to oldest daughter's house for Thanksgiving!

So what would it take to convince you to post your shopping list as well as the dishes you are making. You would completely eliminate so much stress from my "to do" list this week!!!!!!!! If you're laughing...I'm serious!

It looks like you are a wonderful cook. I am working on cooking lately that is something I need help with. Just not enough time and lots of needs at dinner time. I want to make some new meals though. My kids are really picky so it is not a lot of fun. I am working on them though.

I will be hosting Thanksgiving here, too. I have for my in-laws for most of the last 12 years. A couple of times we tried something different but I love hosting it.

I have my list all made up too.
