{Wanting} to help~

This may surprise but I am VERY particular about setting a table. As a matter of fact, while I am setting the table for Thanksgiving, I would prefer my entire family leave for about 2 hours so I can think and {create}.

Well, that dream did not come true....as a matter of fact my husband had a {coaches} meeting and I had 3 pairs of eyes staring at me {TO HELP}. They all wanted to be part of the Thanksgiving table but in my own selfish way and secretly to myself I wanted no HeLp.

Please tell me I am not alone on this????pretty please

Somehow my girls became distracted with other things. But, there was my son, who normally runs the opposite way with anything that has to do with setting a table or shining a piece of silver. He wanted to help. So I sent him on a task of finding the best pine cones he could find for table settings. He had to clean them...{unpine} them and make name cards for the guests.

After, it was all done...I was very pleased and so was he. He even added special touches to the name cards like a fishing rod on his Papa's tag or a drawing of a umbrella near the water for his Nana.

It was sweet and I am glad today I didn't "shew" him away in my Thanksgiving fury~

Your Son is clever and sweet!! I love setting the table too, but my 13 year old LOVES it so much, I have to let her do it. She is a little Martha Stewart. (or a little Suz???)

Wow, I bet your table is beautiful. I don't even have a table! Someday I'll have a house and buy a table and join your fun!

Precious!! I was going to mention this on one of your other posts- have you heard Family Life's Thanksgiving CD? It has some beautiful music, but there is also a dramatic retelling of the Pilgrim's voyage and settling down in the States. We really enjoy it.

And, by the way, you are certainly not the only one! :)

When you're done with him, could you please send him over to my house? I could use one (or several) of him! LOL!
