Just {rewind} a few years...

I was standing at the counter of Starbucks {does that surprise anyone?}. There was a lady there that I knew from a retreat I did a couple of years ago {the world seems to be getting smaller and smaller}. We were talking about Christmas and she was sharing that this would be the first time her family would not be together. Her son (out of college) now was doing Christmas with his girlfriend this year. She understood but she was sad!

As she kept talking, several times she reminded me to enjoy the {NOW} it will be gone in a blink of an eye~

That blink has {already} started. It seems like yesterday I was heading out to Walmart to buy me a Big Ole' gate to go around my tree b/c my 3 year old son would NOT stop touching the ornaments and lights.

Fast forward years...he is not only touching the Christmas tree....He is putting it up for me...organizing the limbs...and doing the LightS!

I think I know what the lady was {speaking} of or at least beginning to...

What a timely post. Yes, enjoy every second you have with your child(ren). And the rest of your family. We lost my father in law unexpectedly today and I sure wish we all had just one more second to tell him we love him.

My kids go into the attic now and bring down all the decorations for us.

While enjoying every moment with my kids, at the same time I love to see them growing, and attaining their full potential, it makes me proud and satisfied.

Every year is so different at Christmas time because they grow so stinkin fast.It is not right. This was our first year with both girls actually putting the ornaments on the tree. Who knows what will happen next year? Are they going to drive the car to get the tree themselves? :)

So So So true... What a lovely post.

By the way, "my" Starbucks is in a Target store. I will be in line at Target buying my things and the girls at Starbucks will get my attention and say "Hot or cold today Robin?" Sad but true.

Time keeps whizzing faster every day. This year my son turned 9 and it's been hard to think he's halfway through his life with us here at home. Those early years seemed like they'd never end and now, somehow they're gone.
