My husband and two older children went to a hockey game downtown. My youngest has been to hockey games but let's just say it's not the highlight of her {childhood} memories. So we stayed home.
The moment the garage went down...I looked at my 5 year old and asked "Well, what are you and I going to do?" ..."It's Saturday night!". She looked at me and said "Let's go to a movie!". It didn't take much convincing b/c I love movies...even animated ones!
So we were off....she acted all {grown up}. Even told me I couldn't sit in certain rows because they were for the handicapped!
...she shared her Raisinets and I shared my drink! After the movie, she grabbed my hand as we were walking out and told me that we should keep this {whole night} a secret because there is no way the rest of the family had as much fun as we did...they would be "totally"{her new favorite word} jealous!

This is adorable and something you'll both always remember!
How cute! What a nice evening you had. I think it's great how you made that child feel important by actually going some place she wanted to go and spending the evening with just her. That'll be such a sweet memory for the both of you.
Life just doesn't get much better than that! What a sweetie.

That's so cute. I love one on one time with my kids. My are still too little for any 'date nights', but I like when their nap times are a little off from each other because I get time to be with each one for a bit.
OH, how sweet!
