when it's gone...

Some days a {life lesson} just happens...or a {realization} of something you take for granted-is gone. Don't we take so many, many things for granted. But, when you {lose} it...you realize it's value.

Value in {life}, Value in a {relationship}, Value of a {possession}...

This week, our garage door broke! {i know you thought I was going to get deep here.} We have been parking our cars outside...it's cold and icy! We have been using a side door entrance...trampling through a skinny ole door with book bags, dirty shoes and groceries. I didn't realize how much I {enjoy} my garage door opener and closer.

A brand new system was put in today...I could of just {kissed} that service man...I held those three garage door openers in my hand like {precious} gems. I opened and closed that door a few times...with goosebumps of excitement going up and down my arms.

I would never think of {appreciating} my garage door opener....but today I do!

What do you appreciate?...

We had the same thing happen about a month ago...It didn't work for TWO weeks till my husband got a chance to fix it! Whew, wow, I DO hear you!
Do you remember when your parents made you get out of the car in the driveway and open the garage by hand? (Maybe that was just my parents) :)

Must be National Garage Door Malfunction month because ours is broken as well. It's driving me nuts to haul grocery bags through the other doors. Hopefully will be fixed soon. I'm glad yours is done.

Bless your heart. :o)
I really appreciate my clients. I care for 4 elderly people, and while in eahc of their homes for a couple of hours at a time, they talk to me. They tell me stories of what it was like in their younger years, they talk about what it is like today for them and three out of the four are Christians, and they share their love of the Lord with me. :o)

We don't have a garage door opener so I'm totally jealous! If we had one, I know I would appreciate it!

We don't have a garage door opener. In fact we don't even have a garage - wish we did, though. Glad yours is fixed!

Funny post!

Oh yes, those garage door openers are lifesavers! Our garage isn't attached to the house, so we have to tromp up through icy, snowy sidewalk and stairs -- ugh! I'm appreciating the sun coming out and melting a bit of our snow overload! Have a great day!

Oh, I know just what you mean! Our dryer was acting up a few weeks ago~ for some reason the door kept popping open over and over again...it makes it really hard to dry clothes when that happens! Thankfully my husband was able to fix it, and imagine how much laundry I'm getting done now! :) I am so glad you were able to have your garage doors fixed! :)

I hope you are having a wonderful week! :)

my dishwasher and washing machine ...
can you think of what our moms and grand moms used to do?

My sister lived in our Great Grandmother's house while in collage .. she had the FIRST old time washer with the outside tup and the two rolling pins you squished the cloths through ...

imagine the cracked hands in the winter

I so appreciate our heater. I live in Texas, and typically, it doesn't get crazy cold here...but it did a week ago and all I could think about were the poor homeless people that didn't have a warm home. To get even more specific, I thought of the children out in the cold and my heart broke. Noone should be cold. Thank you Lord for your provision!

Ours broke last spring, so I actually know what you mean about that-
Our garbage disposal broke over Christmas break...resulting in me putting a giant bucket under the sink to catch the water that dripped all day...We finally replaced it this week, and I am so grateful to not have to empty a bucket of water under the sink several times a day!!!
