Waiting for the Phone Call

It's a little after 5 am-Mr. Sandy Toes has left.

Here I wait because I think a phone call is coming. We already have about 3 inches of snow and I think every school has announced closing but ours! So I wait!

I am like a kid in a candy shop. I get so excited for a snow day...maybe, because I was a teacher or I remember them as a kid (even though we didn't have many in Michigan).

The funny thing is I get all excited...can't sleep waiting for that call.

But, around 11:30 am, when the kids surround me with "I have nothing to do." that excitement fades a bit.

LOL!
I thought the post was about waiting for a phone call from hubby (that seems what I'm doing a lot of these days...since he's been traveling so much).

I'm also hoping for a snow day today!

We got "The Call" first on my cell at 5am, the Hub's cell, then our home phone.... Woo~Hoo! Great way to start the day telling the kiddos NO SCHOOL. But, like you wonder how long the excitement will last before boredom sets in. :-) Enjoy your day...

We have a week's worth of snow days here. Oy! One or two days is nice but after a week...I don't know what I'm going to do.

Hope you get your snow day!

Did you get it? We are due for a big storm here in Connecticut tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they start canceling schools tonight.

I grew up in East Lansing, MI and I use to beg my parents to move to Pewamo-Westphalia. I had no idea where it was but they always got snow days and we didn't ~ it's all about location! :)

I think we'll get one of those calls tomorrow morning and oddly enough, we'll all be more awake listening for it than we would be on a school day.

Thanks for your comment. I also love a cup of cream and sugar with a little coffee to go with it!

My kids were waiting yesterday...but disappointed when we only 3" of snow total and they had to go to school!

I remember snow days and I actually kind of enjoy them now too, even though I am with you that the "I am so bored" comments come a little too soon and sometimes too often for my liking!

Ha ha, that's when you make them go play in the snow!

Laughing-
could we PLEASE!!! have a snow day here??!! We haven't even had ONE yet-and I swear, on the way to school this morning, I was sliding all over the road. They must think we are used to this snow, and can handle it- but I want a snow day!!!!
Maybe tomorrow...

cute - we homeschool our girls so we don't get to wait for snowdays like that but these snowy days it is hard to keep them motivated to do much more than watch tv! we got through school today but I know that feeling!

Ha! I yelled at my husband when he mentioned "are you sure Ry has pre-school today?" I replied not so gently "Oh He's GOING to school!" LOL
