"Down the Drain"

Today, I made chocolate/coffee {bars}...they looked so good. I pulled them out of the oven and they were not exactly the same color as the dough in the picture. I could almost tell something was wrong.

I took one little bite and "yep!" something was wrong. I really don't know what happened- I did it all right according to the recipe. I did use margarine instead of butter (the recipe said I could) but something went wrong.

I must say I usually have a VERY good success rate with baked goods...now dinner is a different story! I have been known to make a few {gross} dinners that didn't turn out. But, never baked goods!

maybe I need to take a cooking class....

I am in a cooking rut.....

are you?

Funny! For years I've been a kraft addict - I LOVE the magazines and the websites they have such easy wonderful recipies but lately I have felt in a rut with the same old, same old - so I switched it up a bit and have been looking at the Betty Crocker website - they have really simple great ideas there and it's helping my rut!! I hope you get out of yours soon!!!

Yes, but mainly because my kitchen is packed in a crate in route to us. I have a frying pan with a lid and some pots...a little hard to get too creative! :)

Oh yeah, I'm definitely in a cooking rut, esp. for dinners! Don't you just hate it when you've used all those good ingredients and it doesn't turn out right!:) Maybe some chocolate chips cookies would be good -- yum -- wish I had some!

I definitely feel like I'm in a rut. Which is kind of funny since I almost never make the same thing twice. I'm always finding new recipes...which is getting kind of old. Maybe it's time to go back to the tried & true recipes for a change. :)

Well, I was...
and then up here, I noticed that Mc Donald's is doing Star Wars as the toy...So that is what is for dinner tonight!
My boys will LOVE me...

My favorite recipes when I am in a rut come from a church cookbook. Those old recipes make my mouth water as I read them...
We have also been experimenting with Doritos...
You can never go wrong if you make tacos, or fajatias-
And lastly, I google "four ingredient recipes"
and a bunch of stuff always pulls up-

Yep.... I have been searching online for new things to throw into the rotation. I am so bored with dinner lately. I am looking forward to Spring when we can start grilling again. If you find a good recipe, make sure post it!

Hi, Mrs. Toe! You don't even want to know about my cooking misadventures. Scary.

I have a question for you. What is the color of your room below that is painted brown? I am in a desperate way, seeking a certain shade of brown and having a hard time finding it. Just curious what yours is.

Thanks!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Were you able to figure out what went wrong? Maybe it was just the recipe!

Funny, I am not alone here. I am with you I do pretty good and then once in a while something is not right. Maybe we are just picky?? I am sure they were good.
