Getting back the {goodnight} ritual

When my kids were really young...we had a very strategic night time schedule...full of teeth brushing, reading books...glasses of water and shaking the sheets to "make" wind. But, sadly {especially this year} our night time rituals b/t practice...lots of homework...has gone by the wayside.

Today, my daughter brought home the sweetest book.

I decided to read it to all three of them. Sadly, it has been a long time since I read to ALL 3 at the same time. I enjoyed it and so did they! After we had great discussions about "pennies" even somehow got on cloth diapers and grandparents....

My kids love to ask me questions about my childhood like when I attended a Catholic preschool in a monastery. I remember the nuns swatting the kids when they misbehaved. Also, the time, when I fell off the swing and two boys tackled me while the nuns came running with sticks to get them off. My kids were laughing so hard...they begged for more.

These are such wonderful moments...precious...

Oh they are wonderful and precious moments. My children are older than yours, but we still enjoy the comforts of the bedtime routine.

My kids are grown and they still love to hear those stories. I do miss the night time routines with the little ones. Enjoy it while you can.

I am glad you had some special time with your kids-
It is true-I remember begging my mom and dad to tell me stories of their lives, and our boys do the same today-if I can remember some, I share!

These are the best times of our lives. My children are so precious to me but I find that we don't read together as often as we should. I have been working on changing that. My son is eight and loves Wimpy Kid books. I read one of these books with my kids this evening. :)
