Letters to camp.

My son is off to camp. He is making his own meals over the fire, sleeping in the woods probaly going across the zip line as I type. It's a week of "stuff" he just loves to do with a friend he loves to be with. However, this week is bitter sweet. My son's friend is moving this month.

We wrote letters to him for every day of the week to put in the camp post office. His sister's letters were so sweet...I wanted to keep them. When my son opens up his "bag", I had a little surprise for him of something he loves with his first camp letter from me.

Dear "Son",
I can’t believe you are off to camp! I am so excited for you!!!! I hope you have a wonderful time and be safe in ALL you do! Papa use to tell me this verse every time I went away---

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

"Son", always do what is RIGHT even if you are alone. Never follow the crowd- if they are doing something foolish, sinful or wrong. We are not there but your Heavenly Father is watching and sees you. Be a good testimony in all you do, in all you SAY, in all you think!

I love you so VERY much!!!!

How sweet. My oldest daughter (8) went to a 48 hour mission event last week. We all wrote her letters and stuck them in her Bible. When we asked her about them, she said she thought they were old papers in her Bible and she threw them away. :( She never even got to read them! Best of luck to your special little guy.

I'm starting a linky party this week for my "Make a List Mondays". It doesn't have to be on Monday though, just the beginning of the week. Would love it if you could join! :)

I'm sure you son will have a blast at camp. That rope swing is fun--I did that once too.
