"This could be our 1st official field trip"

My girls will be doing Classical Conversations this upcoming school year. They are in Cycle 3 which means American History. I am very excited to study this with my girls. So this weekend we went to some Indian Mounds, museum and a festival.

My kids grounded corn with rocks like the Indians, drilled holes in shells like the Indians and made necklaces. They even did some bow and arrow shooting plus "ax" throwing. The "ax" throwing was hard and they were heavy. My son loved it and did it MANY times!

It was a fun day. I told my kids that we could call this our first official field trip!

My oldest did Sonlight's firt half of American History this past year- they have some really great chapter books if you're looking for some- it'd be Core D, I think on their site. My daughter even said Naya Nuki was her favorite from the year.
