Starting my day...

My mornings... they go so fast. I do love cool, Fall mornings. It's a great excuse to drink some hot chocolate or a cup of tea. My girls still insist on wearing their summer pj's b/c they are always hot! It makes me "cold" just looking at them running around with sleeveless nightgowns.

I made my favorite apple cake. It is so easy! Mix 3 eggs, 1 cup oil, 1.5 cup of sugar, 2 cups of flour, T vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon and 3 apples chopped up...Put in a 8 by 8 pan and bake for 45 minutes at 350! It's super yummy and we eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner(dessert). It has a great thick texture to it!

If you have read my blog for a while, you know I love toile.I loved "toile" before toile became popular. I was in a store and found this great toile towel. I put it in my bathroom which is brown...so I am not sure if it fits. Of course, Mr. Sandy Toes had me "pinned" b/c he took one look at that towel and my reply was it was under $10! He said he was not worried about that "ONE" towel it was the stuff that needed to be bought to match that towel! Oh...he knows me to well!

Bought mine Today...

Early this morning...I bought TWO tickets! To WHAT???

THE "Country Living" Fair in Columbus, OH!

My mom and I are going...we plan it EVERY year...it's our special weekend...just us! I am so excited..it is full of fun stuff to buy (sorry, Mr. Sandy Toes!)....great "how to do's"....lots of wonderful orange and yellow pumpkins & gourds at every corner.

It truly is a wonderful fair...worth the wait!!!

Country Living FAIR 08' Or Bust...

My mom and I went to the "Country Living" Fair near Columbus today. What a great time we had and found some wonderful treasures to bring home. The entire fairgrounds are decorated with beautiful fall folliage and every type of gourd you can imagine! We shopped, gathered ideas and shopped some more!
The editors and contributors of the "Country Living" magazine did presentations ranging from "painting furniture" to serving "brunch". My mom and I stopped around 11 or so and had wonderful tomatoe/feta baked bread. A simply wonderful, fall day surrounded by delightful things...

Here are some of our treasures that we could not leave without....

I have been looking for a little bench...found the perfect one. I love these type of gourds..bumpy but beautiful.
One of my favorite booths was a french country shabby decor...great tin(not sure what I am doing with it).
My mom bought this sign. It use to be a sign in a state park about their pine trees. It is perfect for my mom with her rustic decor.

This booth was "jammed"...these two ladies called the "Farm Chicks" make wonderful jewerly with vintage wallpaper! Love it!

**Mom...thank you for a wonderful time...there is noone I would rather share this day with!
