Stir and Season Saturday

Stir and Season Saturday

During the holidays, many of us have overnight guest so I am always on the "look" for great Breakfast food. I think I received this recipe from one of my MOPS friends a couple of years ago..super yummy and perfect for that Saturday morning!

French Ham and Cheese Breakfast Casserole

3 cups cubed French bread (1/2 loaf)

3 cups cooked cubed ham

1/2 pound of cheddar cheese cut into 1 inch squares

3 T flour

1T dry mustard

3 T butter, melted

4 eggs

3 cups of milk

Butter a 9 by 13 pan straight edged baking dish or a large souffle dish. Layer 1/3 of bread cubes, 1/3 ham cubes and 1/3 of cheese cubes in bottom of dish. Mix flour and mustard in small bowl. Sprinkle 1 T of mixture over layers. Dribble 1 T of melted butter over flour and mustard. Layer bread, ham , cheese, flour mixture and butter 2 more times. Beat eggs and milk until foamy; pour over layers and cover; Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight; Bake uncovered at 350 for one hour or until puffed. Enjoy with a side of fresh fruit!

Ooooo I can smell them already!
AHhhhhhhhh
Now, I just need to bake them LOL
This will require assistance for The Muse...perhaps White Iris Design's (Ms Tam) will be good to me this year!

Great idea for a breakfast in bed treat, hint to the hubby...:)

I love breakfast casseroles. I make one similar to this for Christmas breakfast. With a fruit salad it's a great way to start the day. (I make it the night before and put it in the oven when I get up and it's ready after the presents.) Mimi
