Works For Me Wednesday-Christmas Countdown

Gum Drops, Peppermint Sticks, Bubble gum, Christmas Pencils, lollipops, stickers, bouncy balls, Pop rocks, Chocolates

What is this for???

Every year, we do our Christmas countdown with our Christmas Advent Box. The kids love it...they take turns opening the door each day and finding a little surprise for each of them. When my son was very little, I bought the Playmobile advent set. You put out one piece each day in December and it makes a village. So we do that each day too in the advent box with the goodies. My kids love it!!! Sometimes, I forget to do it the next morning and they have to wait till they get home that afternoon...but it's still fun either way!

I also include on different days an activity we will do.."watch a Christmas movie tonight," "make "SNOW" ice cream", "make snowflakes for our window" ,"decorate Christmas cookies and deliver to neighbors". The "advent" calendar Works For Me each year!

Wishing you a "snowy " December day!

Fondly,

Sandy toes XXOO

I love it! If I may ask, where did you find your advent box? It is darling! I also LOVE the idea you do with the Playmobile set. Our daughters are pretty much obsessed with Playmobile and they would have so much fun with the advent set. I might get that for a pre-gift for this Christmas!

I also just want to say that I love the idea of including fun things to do into it all! And what fantastic things you came up with to do with your kids! I am so impressed! :)

You have got to be the best mom ever! Your kids will never be able to say that their childhood wasn't fun - you create that for them by all the little things you do. You go, Mama!

I grew up with advent calendars and I love them! But I love your addition of having fun activity to go along with it. You are the cutest mom!

I'm so glad you're doing these things. I've heard from a few young adults lately that they don't like Christmas or Christmas music. It's sad. I'm thrilled that you and many other mothers are still passing on to their children the glory and wonder of Christmas.
