"Swish!"

"The invention of basketball was not an accident. It was developed to meet a need. Those boys simply would not play 'Drop the Handkerchief' "
-James Naismit
The past couple of months, our son has been playing basketball for his school. It has been fun watching him and his team play. The coaches have been really working with the team and my son practices any chance he can. It's been fun to watch! It sure is a lot warmer in the gym than the soccer field! Brrrrrrr!

We are a basketball and football family. We tried soccer a few times and I guess if my son wanted to do it again he could. The things we do for our kids!!

The basketball court *is* much warmer! :) Our son plays basketball outside - he loves it. Have a good Tuesday & stay warm :)

Oh those pix are so cute! I love watching little boys play ANY sport!

I never even noticed the "issue" with your lamp! :)

Both of my girls played basketball when they were younger...it's one of my favorite sports. Your son looks like he's having a lot of fun! Now, as far as winter sports go, Brittany runs track...talk about cold and miserable! I can't tell you the times we've sat at track meets absolutely frozen to the bone. That's the only thing I don't like about it!

Have a blessed day! ♥

H Sandy Toes! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment!! I just read your profile and we have a lot in common. Cream and sugar w/ a little coffee...the only reason I drink Starbucks hazelnut lattes is for the hazelnut...and it's decaf anyway, love the smell of fresh laundry, I've said a full refrigerator makes me happy more times than I can count and I love to water my landscaping (notice I didn't say flowers...I don't have a green thumb) on a late summer night.

Much love from NJ,
Sue

Morning Sandy,
I must just be forgetting to comment...but I've been here! Loved your lamp project and thankfully we're sports-free right now...except for ballet. But that's all year long. Hope you have a great day.

Hey Sandy!

We're taking an organized sports break here until baseball starts up.

Just a tid bit of info....my elementary school principal was the great grandson of Jim Naismith....needless to say, basketball was BIG at our school and the courts were pretty nice:-).

Have a great day!

We are winter basketball people too. Last year only my little boy did it and my girl did the cheerleading but this year she joined him on a ball team...it's so fun to watch!

Have fun if you are watching all the festivities in DC....It's amazing how many people have flocked there. My husband is in the Air Force and their base is going downtown Atlanta (the base is in downtown Atlanta) to watch it all on the big screen in Centennial Park.

I have never been able to get into basketball, but having it be an "inside" sport during the winter sure makes it have appeal.

Your lamp is too cute!

Love the "action" shots from the kids sporting events. Yours are great. Mine were always sort of fuzzy!

My hubby plays basketball at church and any other time he can. The boys are too small...hopefully they will be in to basketball too. He is too precious.

Did not notice it was upside down yesterday...still don't see it. :)
We play the same sport in the winter...it is FLorida, so the weather is pretty much the same....for us: SOFTBALL. SOFTBALL. SOFTBALL. all year round. :)

Much warmer sport, isn't it?
Bryce's basketball practices just started for our city teams and we finished session #1 of indoor soccer and session #2 is starting up soon! Those are our winter sports!

Basketball is a great sport for kids. They learn eye-hand coordination, running and teamwork. My son used to play football but because of bad kidneys and high school boys hit A LOT harder, he had to stop playing. His favorite sport is of course baseball. He now plays for his high school team and plays a little in the Fall. We are with my husband during the Summer so Brett doesn't play baseball then. He uses that time to work on his skills and has the advantage of working out with pro coaches and players. During the winter months he usually just hits indoors. When high school baseball starts in the Spring, the weather is really cold!I have a little portable heater that I take with me. I am really looking forward to watching Brett play in a couple of months. It is much more fun watching the high school boys play than some of the big boys.

Our kids are playing basketball right now as well...it is much warmer than sitting on the soccer fields in the spring!

My biggest frustration is how difficult it is to take good photos in the gym ~ that is driving me crazy. ;)

My oldest son plays basketball also. He has the same blue jersey. It's funny because we always play sports inside during the summer. It's the opposite for other states. But playing in 110 degrees can be bad for your health. :-)

Darlene said...

Hehehe...I wasn't about to burst your bubble and tell you it was upside down♥

My daughter didn't want to play basketball this year so all she is doing right now (outside of her school activities of Jump-n-Jive and Show Choir) is dance on Monday nights.

Your son is such a cutie! I think organized sports are a great way to teach team work and all sorts of good qualities. Isaiah played t-ball last year, but we haven't ventured into any winter sports...YET! I love sports, so I can't wait!

Congrats on your award!

You got some great action shots! I'm totally impressed. I prefer basketball to soccer. I confess, I'm usually an indoor kind of girl.

BTW> I didn't even NOTICE one of your photos yesterday was crooked. What does that say about ME?

You crack me up! I laughed out loud when I read that quote about basketball. I can relate. My husband is a huge college basketball fan, so I have watched lots of games in the stands and at our house...sigh. But I think watching one of my kids play would be a lot more fun!

I do love basketball! My girls also play soccer in the spring and softball in the summer. My oldest does Karate year round...it is a very rewarding activity. My youngest takes tumbling classes. I run a very busy and in-demand taxi service!

Cute basketball pictures. I just love little boys and their sports. My boys are envolved in martial arts, swimming, and soccer during our Arizona winters. :) Now summers, we drop the soccer...after it get's over 112 degrees no one can take it.
