Something More Than An Apple For The Teacher...

Before I had kids, I taught second grade(also 6th and special ed.). I have a soft heart for teachers b/c I know how much money they spend of their own in their classrooms. So I try to do special things throughout the year to show appreciation and acknowledge their hard work! It always helps if they can use it in the class, too. Today, I began making some Fall candy jars(they say harvest time in the glass) and filled them with candy.

I get out my handy dandy glue gun and glue a bow with a "homemade" fall tag! I would love to show more of the finished product but I am protecting the "innocent"...smile!

I hot glue the "candy corn" on the bow for a finishing touch! These jars are fairly large but even small ones make great gifts for teachers, piano teachers, coaches, Co-op coordinators, Sunday school teachers...it's endless.
I love the individual packets of "sixlets"...they are the colors of fall! I also decorate the lids with poms, polka dots, spray paint...so much you can do! It's just a inexpensive way to show appreciation who make a "mark" in your life or your kids!

Thanks for this cute idea. I am a former teacher as well so I also want to show my gratitude to my kids' teachers because I know how much work they do.

Love this idea! I am so bad with things like this... and it's not because I don't appreciate the teachers - I do! I just don't show it enough. Thanks for the reminder!

Your right! I know when my little starts next year I have all sorts of ideas to send little thank you's to her teacher. They really do spend a lot on our children. Thanks for sharing!

What cute ideas! I don't know of a teacher who wouldn't be thrilled with getting one. Teachers often go unappreciated and I think doing little things like you've done go a LONG way.

What a "sweet" way to show someone how much you appreciate their hard work and efforts! Do you think high school teachers would like that too? My daughter is in our local high school (10th grade).

What a great idea for teachers! I used to be one too, and I agree, it is just so crazy how much they do to make their classrooms a special place, financially and otherwise. I would have loved to receive one of those for harvest time! So cute! :)

Oh! I forgot-How was Ikea? We have one here, and I love the breakfasts. Me and some girlfriends drop the kids at school, and meet there for breakfast! Crazy! I don't like the plastic furniture, but love the organization stuff, and kitchen stuff, too!
