Thursday Thankful~Antibiotics and a mixer???

Well, the past week and a half we have been battling the dreaded infection..."strep"...ever had it?

It feels like 4 knives are scraping your throat and when you talk you almost choke. Thank goodness for modern medicine and antibiotics!

We have had at least one member taking an antibiotic and some times four people in my family taking antibiotics...it was hard to keep track! The hardest part was convincing my 4 year old that it does taste good...like bubble gum or cotton candy. She wasn't convinced but I enjoyed watching her "squish" up her little nose when she drank it...it made me giggle.

In midst of kids being home from school, I was pleasantly surprised when my doorbell rang and Fed Ex dropped off a package. My new Kitchen Aid mixer! Now I have to give MAJOR "kudos" to this company.

My old mixer has been broken a while~

I would fix it and then it would fall right off again. On Saturday, my husband called Kitchen Aid to see where we could get it fixed. After some time on the phone, we found out that our Kitchen Aid professional was RECALLED{five years ago} and they would send a new one right out!!!!! We were thrilled! It's like Christmas all over again in the middle of March.

Now that is customer service!!! So when I am again looking for some type of new kitchen "tool" if I have a choice b/t Kitchen Aid and some other brand....you know what I am buying!

This Thursday Thankful is all about companies that have great customer service and for that "thick" pink syrup my kids take that bring a smile back on their faces.

Hope everyone is now feeling better! No fun at all! We've had that same antibiotic at my house too! Strep is miserable, I use to get it at least twice a year when I was growing up!

Lucky girl, I need that mixer!:-)

Have a great night!

We have a spot in our refrigerator that the amoxocillin just stays. Also, thank goodness for good customer service.

Get well my friend. I have never had strep, neither have My Love or the kids. Sounds awful!

Yay for the new mixer. We are the same way with Sony products.

I am so sorry to hear that you all have been sick with strep. I've never had it, but my girls have and I know how bad it can make you feel. Get well real soon! I'll say a prayer for you!

Wow, Kitchen Aid is one awesome company for sending you a brand new mixer! That's almost unheard of these days! Happy baking! :)

I hope you all feel better at your house, Sandy! Sorry about the strep, and yes, I have had it before, and yes, it's awful!

That's a wonderful mixer... says the magpie with lust in her eye! A very shiny object, indeed!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Strep is terrible. I had it just last month, while being pregnant..that is not fun! They give you the "safe" medicine which does NOT WORK! I forgot about the pink medicine for kids.... I had to take that stuff all the time!

Congrats on the new mixer - I wish I could get a new one! :)

I am thankful for a friend who can look up Easter Bunny books for you when you are on the phone ...

Who can laugh out loud when you want to cry ...

And who can remind me that it really is no big deal

... and that all people are not whack jobs .. I just attract them!

Ugh. I'm sorry to hear that your family has had strep. Knock on wood we haven't gotten it this year. I remember I used to get it once a year as a kid. They'd give me a huge shot in the rear. Oh...how I dreaded that!

We have an ancient Kitchen Aid stand mixer. One of the originals...handed down over a few generations. And guess what? It still works! (it's had some work done on it to keep it running)

I love my KitchenAid mixer and they do have great customer service. Sorry to here about the strep. That is not fun. I remember giving my children that Amoxicillan (sp?) better known as The Pink Stuff. I remember taking it when I was little and I still remember the taste. Not bad.

So sorry your whole family has been under the weather. I hope everyone is feeling better and in need of some cookies or cake so that you can use that new mixer!

I am a new KitchenAid owner, my husband surprised me on Christmas. I am so hooked on the power of the beast (the mixer, not my husband!)I am baking up a storm these days!

Take care,

Colleen

Sorry to hear about your illness - that just generally sucks no matter which way you twist it. However, the new mixer sort of helps! That is so great when a company can stand behind their product like that.

I have a new found respect for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer which will be used in the next couple of hours to bake a pound cake.

Take care and I hope you feel batter! (get it, feel "batter"). Sorry, I'm on my caffeine high right now.

I hope the kiddos are one the mend.
Recently my camera broke and the repairs were estimated at $120. Yikes! Canon stepped up and covered it under warranty.
I love it when great things happen to nice people. :)

Love the mixer!!!

Strep is the WORST. I had it three years in a row back in high school -so not fun. Then Hubby got it two years ago -and I seriously thought he was going to die. I was so scared. Hope you are all feeling better soon!

On the other note, I just made a mental note to buy KITCHEN-AID from now on. That is quality service for sure!
