Hello "Monday"!

I knew early Friday morning this weekend was starting off "shaky". My youngest has full blown asthma and she had been up all night again! However, this time her cough sounded like a {"bark"} and I suspected "croup".

So early Friday morning we were off to the ped's office.

After a couple of minutes, in the doctor's office, my doctor went and got the "head" doctor who checked my daughter and then did several "tests"{all you asthma moms know these) and breathing treatments. The one doctor walked over to me and quietly said...."She may be admitted to the hospital depending on how the second treatment takes". Thankfully, a little better and with much discussion we opted for solution b#. This is where a "respiratory therapist" comes to your house with treatment in the afternoon.

Long story short...THIS WORKED! It saved us literally hours and maybe a night in the ER (normal for asthma situations). With steriods, breathing treatments and antibiotics (oh yeah, she had strep too-no signs)she is doing great this Monday morning.

My daughter was thrilled when the "respiratory therapist" brought her a new "mask" in the shape of a fish plus stickers to decorate it.

{Old Mask}

{New Mask}

I was so thankful for everyone. Even the doctor from my office called me Saturday morning to see how she was doing. They really care!

So with that...I missed the first games of the season for this young man....

and this young lady....

But, so thankful that everyone in my "home" is breathing easy!

{One day can make you look at life in a different perspective!}

p.s. Tomorrow I am sharing a "little" project I have been working on...Oh I am so excited to share it with my bloggy friends!

Im glad your daughter is doing much better. I have asthma myself and grew up with it. I know as a child it can be a scary thing to deal with. I would cry sometimes when i had an attack and that doesnt make it any better. Sounds like she is in great care though. My asthma has gotten better as an adult...thats also because of the help with advair...although its $45 every time I need a new one!

I am so glad that your daughter is doing so much better. That fish mask is adorable!! I know how scary that is because as a child I had croup, and asthma. Hopefully you will be there to watch many more soccer games with no one sick.♥

I am too familiar with asthma. Luckily my girls don't have it (yet). I had it when I was younger, and both my niece and nephew had it. ER visits and over night stays are all too familiar.

Glad she's feeling better.

Sandy, so sorry about that asthma flare - so scary.... But, I'm glad you were able to circumvent the hospital - with all of its germs!

That mask is such a great idea for little ones.

I hope your baby continues to improve every day!

I actually came here to see if you had an entry for I Heart Faces - sigh, I don't see one.....

That mask is so cute. My 6 year old has a congenital lung condition and has treatments when sick. He still uses his mask from when he was tiny. LOL! I should see if his dr. can get him one of those!
