Where do your kids do their homework?
We have a special "spot" in our house where homework is done. It's a place with tins of pencils and crayons, white boards and folders.
Usually my son begins there in the afternoon and begins after snack...while I usually do my daughter's homework in the kitchen if he has a lot.
I have been going back and forth with redoing this back room but I am torn. It really works for us plus it's quiet. My son on a normal night can have Math, Vocab, Memorization, Latin, History/Map and Science. So depending on his determination and concentration it can vary from how much time he spends there.
I think I could just use the kitchen table but it's so busy and loud...
So my dilemna is #1 keep the homework spot
or
#2 get rid of it and make a den for my husband to watch football :)

I would be THRILLED if my kids would do their homework at a quiet spot in the house. They WANT to be in the center of the house, with all the activities going on. If I were you, I would milk the quiet room for all it's worth! Don't get rid of it! In fact, maybe I should send my kids to your house!
Totally keep the homework spot. I feel they need the quiet place to do homework.
I think with the amount of concentration and time they need to do it, a quiet spot is very important. I know in our house, we do it at the table but it is frequently too busy for work. I wish I had a quiet room, our house is just too small for that. We make do. If I had a space I would use for that.
I'm so jealous of your homework spot...since my oldest is only in 2nd we're just getting there, but I can totally envision it being needed in the future!
Just get a nicer TV wherever your husband currently watches football.
Football...hmmm....that is a hard choice!
It is nice to have a homework spot. We have one-my office-but the kids seem to need me, so they have used the dining room table (with a protective cover on it!) and while I make dinner, they are right there...and they stay on track because I am making them !!
This is a hard choice- you need to tell what you end up doing-
Homework. Homework. Homework.
Football watching can come in about 10 years. :)
Well, now that they are all teens, they just hang out upstairs and do their homework. I'm amazed they can get anything done, but they have their own spaces that they like. :) Love your "spot."
I love your homework spot. So i say keep it. I love having a place where kids can go do their homework and not taking up the kitchen table when i'm trying to set the table.

I would LOVE for Lexi to have a dedicated homework spot. We use the kitchen table and I usually just turn off the TV while it is getting done. Lexi does all of her reading in her room with everything off so she can concentrate.
I'm saying...keep the homework spot! Your hubby can watch football just about anywhere...mine sure does!:)
We do it at the table...but there is only one kid : ) Good luck!
I would milk the quiet room for all it's worth!

That is awesome that you have space set aside for homework! We struggle with that on a daily basis as I don't have a deignated spot!
In our home the little ladies use the dinning room table for their homework..
That is a tough decision. Could your son have a quiet spot in his room to do his homework. I think your hubby would love a den. I know mine would.

You MUST keep the homework spot. What a blessing to have that designated space. I would LOVE to have that. Your hubby is going to watch football anyway. I say let the kids keep their space. They won't be there forever :(
can you add a chair to the homework spot and a tv against the opposite wall? that way you keep the homework spot and hubby can watch football, too! he wouldn't be in there at the same time;)
I vote for football for the wonderful hubby.
It looks like a very inviting space to do school work! Although, a football den is always nice....sorry I a not much help.
I vote for the homework spot. :)
Can I ask where you got the bookshelves? I like how they have so many spots for shelves. They look like maybe IKEA?
