It's late. The kids are sleeping. I can't sleep.
I just read my Bible and texted my friend a verse....
"When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down; your sleep will be sweet."Proverbs 3.
Tonight, her daughter is in the hospital- she was in a car accident...a serious one.
I know because I received a call early this evening from a sheriff.
My daughter was in that car, too.
Tonight, behind me, my daughter is sleeping on our couch- whole and well. Our Lord protected her. Right now, as I read my Bible, I am more reminded of the statement "I AM". His presence and holiness is with me tonight.
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
It takes a split second...one phone call...to put everything in perspective. Things that seemed SO very important one minute before means nothing..absolutely nothing.
After getting my daughter, we were at a stop light and I reached back and held her hand. It was shaking and she was trembling. Her hand never felt so sweet in my hand as it did-I held it tightly and no words were said.
Someone on the scene told her that she is "ok" but may have nightmares....Tonight, we read Psalm 23
The Lord is My Shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me besides the still waters. He restoreth my soul....
She was scared to close her eyes....but now she sleeps.
Her friend should be fine- she will have surgery with plastic surgeons to get her all fixed up! We praise God for this!

I've always loved that verse and read it myself when I was having trouble sleeping after getting bad news. What a blessing to know God is in control!
I'm praising Him with you for yoru daughters safety.
I am so sorry. I will pray for your friend tonight.
Christ, our Comforter. Nothing better...
I pray the Lord will pour His peace over you all!
