Works For Me Wednesday-Pillows

Sometimes do you ever just want to get rid of ALL your furniture and start new??I do all the time. I wake up from my DREAM and realize that this is not going to happen. However, my "love affair" with pillows gives me the change I want.

Big, small, plaid, toile , plain and "wordy" pillows! I love them all and they are all over my house. But, when I want to change the look of a piece of furniture or even a room, I will change pillows or add them!! The above picture I just put black and white houndstooth pillows and it really changed the look of my toile chairs and den.

This is my kitchen table bench threw on two pillows ..."woila"...new look! Now, everyone has to be careful of splattered BBQ sauce or ketchup.

If it be the living room couch or the bench in the mud room, a pillow can change the look and warmth of the room. Hobby Lobby has great sales on pillows...sometimes 60% off..they are fun and different. I love to check out Home Goods, too!

Buying a pillow works for me over buying a new couch!!!

I love me some pillows too...usually I make them but sometimes...oh sometimes...I buy them and spend way too much. I will do a pillow post one day and explain.

Absolutely charming. I love your place. It is so cozy and warm feeling.

Pillows are the answer to the unsettled decorator. I feel it frees us to change without loosing the bank. You have great taste.

Thanks for sharing.

Your pillows are divine. Love homegoods. I could spend our life savings there on items such as pillows.
They do change the feel of a room.
Thanks for sharing.

I will admit it-I also have a slight obsession with pillows, too. My hub. is sick of making the bed-I have sooo many pillows that go there-He just throws them on (!) and I almost stroke out! I have pillows on every couch, and even on his THEATER SEATS IN THE MOVIE room-He doesn't understand the pillows make everything so much cuter!
O.K. I have a HUGE obsession with pillows....

I am addicted to throw pillows....they are everywhere in this house!

Furniture and decor is one of my favorite things to shop for....I like to change things up often, but like you said, you need to find simple fixes.....don't think my husband would appreciate it if I told him we were getting rid of our two year old livingroom set because I am bored with it:)

Love the pillows that you chose!

How fun is this?!?! I am the only one with estrogen pumping through the body in this little home of ours...so the whole decorative pillow thing...is one big confusion for the other half of God's design!

Hi Sandy! I love pillows too! Yours are beautiful. Love the ones on your kitchen bench! Oh, and I have little carvings like your daughter did all over my kitchen table. It makes me crazy, but my hubby says we have to wait until the youngest grows out of that stuff before we can replace it!

Oh, and... You've been "Boo-ed"!

RosyRose said...

So if you need to get rid of that stuff I know a girl....

I'll be looking into more pillows soon. Love the houndstooth with the toile. You are right those pillows are a much more budget friendly option. Jackie

I love your taste in pillows.

Unfortunetly in our house with our insane kids, we have even gone to the extent of our couch having the cushions sewn down, because they would always end up on the floor.
They drag them off, fight with them, toss their decorative beauty with no disregard...

One day, when they are grown I will have pretty pillows...

Montee said...

I am with you on pillows. I have plenty and they definitely can do a lot to change a look.

Sandra said...

All the pillows are lovely! I was at the thrift store today and found 3 pillows that I will use to give a Christmas look to my couch. I was excited about that!

I am lovin' me some pillows too, though yours are much prettier than mine. But with 4 Things they just never seem to stay where I put them (the pillows, not the Things). :) Ang
