A New Year!

Happy 2009!!! I am not much into New Year's Resolutions...like eat healthy

{I will probaly eat chocolate tomorrow}

or exercise more

{that treadmill will still have the same dust on it}

or be more patient with the kids

{I know tomorrow someone will play with water, spill glitter, jump on the couch and I will raise my "voice"}

or keep up with the laundry

{It will last for a week and the buckets will be full and I will be doing 8 loads in one day}

or spend your money wisely(This one is important to me this year..I am going to TRY TRY TRY)

{Until I enter the doors of "Hobby Lobby" or "Gymboree"}

However, this year....I would like to see some things change and some stay the same. This year instead of resolutions that I will break tomorrow. I have chosen a verse for the year....

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

p.s. Check out Kaboose.com! They have some wonderful New Year's Day projects to do with your kids!

I've chosen a verse, too, Sandy.. Philippians 4:8. I like yours... it's "uplifting", to say the least! Hoping and believing... that He will renew us daily and forgive us minute by minute! Happy New Year!

I like this idea. I'll have to think about a verse. I'm not too good at keeping those resolutions!

Great verse for the new year! That is one we should always hold onto.

It is so true. Once people (including me) "resolve" to do something, it seems to never happen. Now there are exceptions, but I'm just generally speaking. However, each year I go ahead and make resolutions or set goals or whatever you want to call it. I'm a sucker for tradition I guess:) Here's to good intentions! :)

Hope you have a very blessed and prosperous New Year!

I absolutely love that verse. It's one of my favorites. I am not making any resolutions because I can't ever keep them. I hope you and your family have a wonderful New Year!

One of my favorite verses! I like this idea because I too can't keep resolutions. What a great blessing! My aunt wrote a book called Those Who Wait that is based on this verse.

That is one of my favorite verses. I usually don't make resolutions. My sister in-law, Tracy has a good idea for a one word resolution that she wrote about on her blog. Go to my blog and click on her name under "Other Bloggers," and check it out.

Sandy,

That's a verse we had at our renewal of vows ceremony, and it is one that has sustained me through so many things that life has thrown my way. I can sound a loud "amen" to your choice of resolutions. This was beautifully written and is well worth having as your resolution!

Happy New Year! You are a joy!

XO,

Sheila :-)

What a wonderful post, my friend! Hey, you're not alone, when the doors of Hobby Lobby are open, I make a mad dash right on in. Boy, it's just so hard to resist! Oh, and as for the chocolate thing...I can NEVER give that up...no way! :) Happy 2009!

If I made resolutions, they would be these very ones - and they would probably be producing guilt and a sense of failure by mid Jan. :-) I like your idea of soaring on the wings of the Lord and letting Him accomplish His desires through us!

Happy New Year!

I have never made resolutions because I always knew I'd break them. Last year I did make one huge goal though and really made myself stick to it (about getting more healthy and losing weight.) I hope to continue with that goal this year as well.
