I love Fall...the smells, the colors, the food (yes, there is Fall food) but right about now I am in hopes that a big wind storm comes and takes all my leaves away. Well, I do love my neighbors so I don't wish my {leaves} to be on their perfect, manicured lawn.
{quick picture of my neighbor's lawn}
But, maybe a mini tornado that swirls up all the leaves and moves them far, far away!
We have been keeping up with the leaves. But, we have two big trees in the front that still have a lot of leaves to drop.
I just want to go out there and shake them but they are too big! Mr. Sandy Toes mows most of them but now we are getting to the {crucial}stage. The leaves are in the beds...no, Mr. Sandy Toes, you cannot take your driving lawnmower into my beds!!!
I guess it is time to pull out the old-fashion rake...
{good reason to have kids....they actually think it's fun! well, for about 10 minutes!}

Yuck, I hate to rake leaves!
Oh I hear you...! My husband was on vacation last week and bless his heart he got out that old rake! Ahhh, all is right with the World~
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week,
Robin~♥
Our leaves have all come down now, but it looked the same as yours for weeks. Good luck!
It's such a shame they make such a mess because they are so wonderful to look at. Happy raking! Leigh
Our leaves haven't dropped, and the back is filled with Pine Trees...however-somehow, the neighbors on both sides get their leaves to land in our yard! It is the craziest thing-but we have a MILLION leaves...and they are NOT ours!!!
This is what we will be doing today, I think as well...
Our trees are just about bare and think we had 30+ bags of leaves! Luckily, a few leaves did blow into the neighbor's yard!
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family.
Janet
We haven't even started on all of ours yet! We just wait till they all fall then start...otherwise, you seem to just keep doing all that work and the next day there are tons of leaves again!
I love fall too, especially the fall food!=)
We need to rake our leaves SO bad! Love this post!
I too love fall...but the past 3 Saturday's we've been slaves to our leaves. We live on a very wooded lot and on a court full of retired people that rake every day and keep their lawns spotless.
We feel so much pressure to get outside and keep up with our leaves...we've literally spent at least 14 hours the past 3 wknds filling tarps with leaves and dragging them into the woods. I guess its the price you pay when you live somewhere that actually has a pretty fall season.
Ha ha - I just posted about this too before reading your blog! It is fun for me too for about 10 minutes, then I'm over it!
This is so funny cause I spent part of Saturday when life was at the craziest with so much to do trying to get our leaves up before my husband returned from his trip... I took a broom to my ice plant and bushed... yes a broom! And now i see more leaves! UGH
by the way... if you need more mouths to feed I'll be right over!! {wink} I'm jealous you have food in your fridge... i have food but it needs a lot of putting it together to get it into something! P.S. yes this is a long comment but you'll be happy with my P.S. I found a recipe to make a homemade pumpkin spiced latte at home! so if your mom brought her espresso machine let me know if you want the recipe! :)
xo,

You can always leave them in the beds to mulch down for the soil. It's a great organic fertilizer. We have so many trees and so many leave. We've raked and put many of them in the compost bin and garden. The rest hubby mowed over with a mulching blade. It makes them disappear like magic. He even went and did the neighbors' yard.

You are so funny! : )
This was the 1st year that my hubby didn't rake his little heart out. We "mulched" them this time...good for the lawn, you know? ;) He used the blower for spots too close to the house and in the beds he raked a little...but all in all saved about 20 hours!
Oh, I would've helped, of course, but I absolutely had to go into work...they pay for my labor so it was a no-brainer! LOL. I think that may have had something to do w/his choice to mow them this year...you think?
I loved it when the leaves would fall around at my mother's house when I was younger. My sister and I would always rake them into big piles and jump in them, but you are right we only enjoyed raking them for 10 minutes or so.
Hope you are having a great SITS Day!
I used to love raking when I was a kid. And, yeas, you're right. It took around 10 minutes before I got bored.
You have such a lovely family, Mrs. Sandy Toes!
