Stir and Season Saturdays

"Stir and Season Saturday"

This is one of our favorite appetizer recipes. NOW, first I must make this perfectly CLEAR..I do NOT NOT NOT like brie cheese...I don't even like to look at it or smell it. However, this recipe is just wonderful and I received this years ago from a Bunco friend. Just go for it..Make it..you will

NOT

Be Disappointed!

Baked Carmel Cinnamon Brie

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup Packed brown sugar

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 t nutmeg and cinnamon

12 oz round brie

2 T roasted almonds

French bread cut into thin slices

Combine butter, sugars in a saucepan. Cook over low until butter melts and sugars are dissolved, stir frequently. Add cream gradually; stirring constantly; Stir in nutmeg and cinnamon; Cook until thickened ; Drizzle mixture over the brie;Bake at 225 until heated through about 20 minutes; Sprinkle with almonds; Let stand for 5 minutes before serving with French bread!

I know what you are thinking...UGH Brie...it is so good..you will not believe it!!!!

Note: Plate above can be purchased at Willima and Sonoma

LOL! about you not liking the smell. I'm that way about tuna in oil... I RUN in the other direction. Long funny story I won't bore you with today.

I've had something similar to your brie, and I love it! I can testify that baked brie is delicious when you add things to it. And I want to try your recipe. Thank you for sharing.:-)

If I can dig out my recipe, I might share it at some point. A friend of mine got it from a caterer in DC years ago, and it gives an extra kick to it, too.

Hope you're having fun with your girls' weekend.

XO,

Sheila

Yum! Isn't it funny how you can really dislike something, but when it's mixed up with other things, it's not too bad? LOL

Sounds yummy!! Hope you had a great scrappin weekend! Did you get a lot accomplished? I'm so jealous as I definitely need time away;) My two friends and I usually go away for a weekend every year in March. Unfortunately the two of them had a falling out during our last weekend away and things have not been the same since. No more weeknds away for the three of us. Actually no more of anything that involves the three of us! Totally stinks!

I don't usually like strong cheeses, either, but I know that I'm going to have to make this for my cheese-a-holic son! :)
