OH mY BuBbLe!

My youngest was in the bath tub in the morning and I was cleaning the sinks..organizing hair bows....wiping off toothpaste (you know all that "mommy" stuff we do). I peeked over at my daughter who was giggling "quietly" and notice she had something under the water.

It was a 1/2 {full} bottle of Johnson body wash that had now been emptied into the water. Bubbles were forming everywhere and pure delight came out from every giggle.

I had my camera right there and instead of giving one of my MOMMY lectures. I just slid right down on the floor and leaned over and listened to all the bubbles popping and bumping together. Yes, bubbles do make noise!

I watched and "clicked" as she played. We didn't exchange many words but sweet "smiles"!

Too funny. This has happened here many times. I heard those bubbles before. My kids loved those disney bath toys... I want that YES! They say over and over...lol. *sigh* they can barely fit in the tub as it is for all the toys.

That is so awesome that you just enjoyed the moment with her instead of getting upset. Go YOU!! These are the moments that will be remembered forever!

By the way, did you see my last post? If not check it out, it was very difficult to write but it should be worth it. If you feel led to do so, post about it so that we can get the word out so that this ministry I am starting will speak to many.

Love and Prayers,

Kids and bubbles...the perfect combination! You'll be so glad, one day, that you let your daughter enjoy...REALLY enjoy her bubble bath, even if it did take nearly an entire bottle of shampoo to achieve it! Those kinds of moments are priceless and forever treasured!

Great moment you captured. Great too that you didn't lose the moment with a "lecture" like I probably would have done back when the kids were little.

The body wash can be replaced, that priceless moment cannot...

This happens often at our house. I normally get mad about the wasting more then smiling about the sweet moment and smiles. Thanks for taking me back to reality and reminding me that kids will be kids and things happen. I should just let somethings like this slide.

What a great post and a good lesson for Mom's to just sit back and enjoy! I would have also had to take a deep breath and reconsider lecuring on "wasting"! The next time my boys do this I will watch them enjoy the bubbles!

By the way your daughter has gorgeous hair. Love the color and love the curl!

Hi! Just stopped by your blog from Rose's!! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post. Our children so often make us stop and take notice of things that as adults we just take for granted. Absolutey beautiful.

On another note, I also know about doing those "mommy duties" when you can...sometimes I feel like I am always doing 7 things at once!! Ha!

Have a beautiful day.

You know, I imagine that God has some of those same kinds of moments with us.. dontcha think? Your sweet girl will learn the value of a dollar soon enough.. but finding joy in bubbles, and sharing sweet smiles with mom while she's in the bath? That will be fleeting.. so glad you "danced in the moment"...

Good call on making that a special moment instead of a lecture one! Sometimes we get so caught up in the "go go go!" of our lives that we forget that the simplest moments are like little gifts :)

That actually happened to me last night; my husband and I were cooking dinner for a dinner party we were having and I tasked him with making the "no-bake jello cheesecake" dessert thinking that he'd whip that out and be out of my hair in the kitchen so I could finish cooking. Good gosh did that man take his time! I was almost about to snap at him when I realized that he was taking his time because he was putting so much care into his creation. It was so cute!! I couldn't kick him out then :) I just had to remind myself that he could take as much time as he wanted to perfect his delicious masterpiece!
