sitting on that bench....

It's the weekend...goodness, I thought it was just yesterday and I was carrying linens into our little wooden cabin to "camp" for the weekend. But, another week has come and almost gone {again}... I wish I could tell you something truly exciting and wonderfully inspirational but if making lunches, flipping through Latin flashcards, laundry and going to the chiropracter sounds like that then I guess I will save you the {mundane} of all of that...

My thoughts do keep going back to last weekend. My son took his fly fishing equipment and I sat on a bench quietly and watched him. I had seen videos of him fishing and heard stories but never have I sat there and witnessed a true "talent" given from God to him.

He has the most beautiful movements and relaxing "touch". Do you remember that sound from the "River Runs Through It" from the fly fishers? He does that...you can hear the line in air as he lifts the hook off the surface of the water and pulls it back and forth with a continuous and smooth motion.

wishing I was sitting on that bench right now....

I've never been fly fishing or watched anyone. It does look like a relaxing way to spend the day by the water. Glad you got to soak in that memory of your boy.
Your week sounds like mine minus the Latin. My Chiropractor has been working on my neck.

Beautiful pictures Sandy. My Uncle is a great fly fisherman. It does take great talent. Your son is lucky to have discovered his at a young age. Glad you enjoyed your time together. ;D

I wish I was on that bench with you basking in those peaceful surroundings.

To be in awe of one's child is a pretty cool thing, isn't it? I love it.

beautiful post sandy

in response to you from my blog - kate has GOT to work to support that enormous family, b/c clearly he is not working and has no plans to in the near future.

i do agree they should stop the show b/c at this point it is uncomfortable to watch and so contrived to the point of boring, but i think she should continue to write, she has a gift

we don't know the details of contracts and so forth, they may be obligated to do it, i don't know, but i don't think it will run for much longer

as someone who has come from a similar situation, i just feel in my heart her pain and i do admire her for keeping her brave face. it was hard enough to experience privately, let alone having the whole world know about it, and bashing you about it on a daily basis.

anyhow, that's my spiel

The post card effect of these pictures is totally soothing to th eyes, especially after a tired day. I don't know what fly fishing is or how someone learns it but your son seems to be really good at fly fishing. It's great that you re encouraging him and supporting his endeavors.
