In the middle of the aisle...

Today at 5:30, my daughter will celebrate her 9th birthday with 25 + friends! She is so excited that early this morning around 3am- I gave her younger sister a breathing treatment and she must of woke up and then got DRESSED! I had to send her back to bed with her school uniform on!

It is hard to believe that she is 9! NINE??? I can't seem to get my "head" around it. I would love to have 5 more of "her" and just a couple of boxes of hair dye to go along with it. Last night, she spent the longest time trying to figure out what to wear. I let her do it even though I knew she would have a surprise on her bed before the party today.

I bought her an outfit for her party. I remember standing in the store between the clothes...on one side there were sweet jumpers with big initials with pink and green polka dots all over it. On the other side of the aisle, were more "older" clothes minus the polka dots and bows! A major conflict came over me...there I stood trying to hold on to my sweet girl with the bows but knowing full well that she would love an outfit on the other side of the aisle.

I am holding tight and it's hard to let go...even a little! You don't know how hard it is till you are there standing...even in the middle of a clothes aisle.

{I guess, I am slowly letting go...at least the polka dots and monograms!}

Bless your heart...you're walking the road I've already traveled. Letting go is one of the HARDEST things to do as a parent. You just want things to remain as they are in this very moment, yet it's exhilarating when they learn to stretch their wings and FLY! Hope your daughter has a wonderful 9th birthday...make lots of lasting memories!

Love the outfit! And, I so understand about polka dots! Except I have boys! Sigh! However, I so relate to the battle to let them go to grow. It looks like you are handling it so beautifully - even without polka dots!

Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter! Hope she has a fun time at her party.
I loved this post - I've lived it through 3 kids. :)

I do know exactly how you feel! It is so hard to let go and watch them grow. Plus the clothes they make these days don't help a Mama out much, either :)
I hope she has had a wonderful day!
Love the new outfit - did she?
